It sounds to me that you're still at the stage where the fear of withdrawal is worse than the withdrawal itself.
So you've been using 2g/day for 6 months? In my experience it's not the amount you take, it's the length of time you've been taking it that determines the severity and speed of onset of withdrawal. I reckon 15 hours with no significant symptoms is very doable at your level of habit, though you did say you had a bad headache which was often one of the first symptoms to manifest when I was doing it.
Also, benzos are very good at delaying onset. I'm guessing you used again when you woke up though?
Your addiction can't be as bad as you think it is otherwise you would have been into that bag as soon as you got home instead of dropping a benzo and going to sleep.
So to answer your question, you simply didn't stop using for long enough for the withdrawal to kick in and delayed the onset with the temazepam.
However, rest assured that if you carry on like this you'll soon be climbing the walls after only four hours.
