expiry date

I use EZ test kit and I heard from somewhere that there is an expiry date for these chemical.
True?

If you store the test in a cool dark place, it will last for a long time. I have tests that still perform after a year and a half. A major sign of an expried test kit is when the liquid has turned black. A slight brownish discoloring will not affect the results.

I have two X-treme test kits which are about a year old. Both were stored in a cool cupboard. In both kits the bottles of Simon's reagent has gone cloudy and has black bits in. I'm sure that it was nothing that I did, one of the kits was unopened. I've emailed EZ test and they promised to send me replacements if I sent them the old bottles. But the last kits I had delivered resulted in a visit to my appartment from the Warsaw drugs squad so I'm trying to find a friend who'll let me have the things sent to their place!
