I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was about 17 and had been taking ritalin till just last year on a regular basis. At the beginning of this year I decided that I wanted to stop taking ritalin because of the side-effects that I was getting and have been going strong until tonight. I have an exam on the this coming tuesday which I am majorly f*cked for and have decided that I need a bit of ritalin to help me concentrate on the work that needs to be done.

The only problem is the ritalin I have left over expired in January this year and I'm worried to take it because of the possible side-effects of the drug. Is there any reason the drug shouldn't be okay for consumption? I have always kept it in a cool dry place and the tablets are still sealed as per when I bought them.

Cheers!

It will be fine. At worst it might have lost a bit of its potency, but I doubt much. Its fine and it will still work just maybe not as if it was the first day you got it. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the response buddy :) I'm going to try some now, and seeing as I haven't taken it for so long i'll probably only take half a tablet and another half in 30mins if I need it.

I'm sure your Ritalin will still work fine.

Most drugs are required to have an expiration date that is normally irrelevant. Some drugs do break down over time (i.e. SSRI's) but others have a much longer shelf life (i.e. MDMA).

I'm going to close this since you've got your question answered. Good luck on the test!
