Hi guys,
I have been taking dexamphetamine most of my life for concentration issues and "ADHD" and over the years I have saved some tablets that I have not used - they may be a few years old? (cant remember). Today I decided I may aswell use the old tablets first to get rid of them before opening a fresh bottle. I took half of a 5mg IR tablet this morning sublingually upon waking (this is a usual dose for me and seems to work well).
I went about my day and made my way to university, everything seemed fine, I was nicely stimulated (maybe more than usual?) and was taking notes in a lecture. I also gave a friend one (who was never used any amphetamines before) because he was very tired and i recommended it to him to wake him up. The pill worked for him nicely at the time.
Everything seemed as per usual until i got to some of my other classes a few hours later. In my classes I started to flush uncontrollably, although I am prone to flushing, this was unusual... my face was very hot and I was just staying bright red for a long time. In my classes I started to get very bad anxiety, my hands were shaky and I feel as if I almost had a panic attack (this isnt normal for me, I am usually very outgoing and confident while medicated , although recently I have been having slight anxiety on dex for some unknown reason). Later on, my friend text messaged me saying that he had started to get a headache from the tablet (I assumed he just wasnt drinking enough water) so I told him to stay hydrated and he should be fine.
I had finally finished all my classes and spoke to some people outside of class and the negative effects seemed to stop very quickly. After my chatting for about half an hour I was on my way home and started to feel an ache in my eyes and head, this has happened before with dex but not as prounounced as it was this time (although this time it wasnt so bad, but it was definitely more than usual).
Has anyone here had similar experiences? I do doubt that the old medication would have effects such as these but I am otherwise unsure what would be causing such negative side effects as I usually have very little side effects from taking dex at all.
I apologize if my writing isnt coherent, I am not feeling so great at the moment.
