Experimentation with "hard" and more "dangerous" drugs. Ever a positive result?

Hardest drugs I've done are prescription opiates, MDMA and a few research chemicals, so no personal experience with the ones you listed.

Trying those drugs is one thing, but most people find themselves addicted pretty quick. If it's really about curiosity (a la Alexander Shulgin and his PiHKAL/TiHKAL compounds), you might be fine...however, if you're using them repeatedly for the good feelings they give, you could very well end up addicted. Or dead.

There are definitely some strong-willed and incorruptible people out there.

It just seems like a naive question to ask. Most people that have this elusive will to not become an addict are either never going to try drugs or try them and don't have so much as a second thought about doing them again. Most people fall into the latter category, I guess. Statistically anyway. In any case, good luck with your experimentation OP. Give ketamine a shot(pun intended). It's great.

I recognize that I am playing with fire here. I am not deluding myself into thinking my strong will is enough to keep me out of harms way. I have seen a number of strong willed, intelligent and otherwise incorruptible individuals fall victim to addiction.

The fact of the matter remains I want to experiment with drugs and plan on continuing to do so. Staying away from meth, heroin and needles has thus far allowed me to experiment without detriment.

This sounds a lot like me.
Actually, exactly like me. I'd like to experiment with with pretty much any psychoactive drug. My reason isn't just to find how many different ways I can get fucked up though (not saying yours is), but I am fascinated with how the brain creates sensations, and how adding a little chemical to it can completely change the way we our consciousness is experienced. Obviously I am a psychology major and fanatic :)

so far from the "hard" drugs, ive tried coke(snorted), meth(snorted and smoked) and heroin(smoked). They are fun, there's no doubt, but they aren't something i can see myself really getting into. I'm a psychonaut at heart, psychedelics ftw:D

hmm

Amphetamine- listed in the CPS as a medical product.
methamphetamine- FDA approved medical product.
Cocaine- also in the CPS as controlled, but medically used drug.
diamorphine. Listed in the BP compendium.
Phencyclidine...formerly used as a surgical anesthetic, parent compound of Ketamine, Not as nasty as rumors hold.

positives: may treat your ADHD or narcolepsy/be an effective local anesthetic/treat severe pain/provide an effect comparable to ketamine or otc DXM

most of shulgin's PEA's are far more dangerous then any of the above. Esp the 2-c-t-x series...hmm..monoamine releaser and maoi in one neat package! how could you go wrong?

Inhalants include the fairly harmless nitrous oxide and the haloalkene anesthetics, no? both are effective pain control, and both are fun, granted the haloalkenes like isoflurane are a tad dangerous, but probably still safer then the psychedelic PEA's

There is a show on National Geographic called 'Banged up Abroad' and I saw an episode recently where a bloke from Melbourne got caught smuggling heroin out of Thailand and was given a life sentence.

According to him he had never used hard drugs before being imprisoned, in jail he started using heroin and sharing syringes. He eventually contracted HIV and decided to quit heroin. His mum campaigned to have him released on medical grounds and after only 5 years of imprisonment he was officially pardoned.

At the time the show was filmed, he had been free from jail for 12 years and was living with his wife up in Queensland. A pretty extreme example and obviously this guy has AIDs, but the fact is he would of died in that overcrowded shithole in Thailand had he not contracted AID's via intraveinous drug use, because he did he has now had atleast 12 years of freedom and met the love of his life.

That was one of the craziest stories I ever heard but it would definately qualify as a more positive outcome for this guy directly caused by hard drug use.

Personally I don't think you will hear too many stories of how hard drug use benefitted someone, there are plenty of stories that don't end in heartbreak but not so many of drugs actually benefitting someone. I read a while ago the guy who discovered DNA first saw the double helix while tripping on acid, who knows..

First of all, that all depends on your definition of a positive result. I get a positive result almost every time I do hard drugs. Exceptions are bad dope, missing the vein, or getting arrested.

And yes, it is possible to do the drugs you have listed with minimal harm. It just takes a lot of extra effort.

Suppose you get a degree in chemistry (not that you necessarily need one for this). You could then cook your own meth, make your own PCP, make crack out of 100% pure cocaine, and make your own own heroin out of poppies you have grown. Once you have your substances, ingest them using the strictest precautions. If you take the meth and PCP orally, plug the heroin in your rectum, and smoke the crack once or twice, you will have escaped all harm (aside from a little lung damage which can be repaired). Neurotransmitters can be replenished with supplements like 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine. Vitamin injections, a perfect diet, and regular exercise will also help.

However, that doesn't sound very realistic, does it? It's very possible to use every drug you listed while still coming out "ok." With realisitc steps like a solid diet, regular exercise, vitamins and supplements, and getting the purest drugs possible, you can experiment with the hardest drugs and come out relatively unscathed.

In my experience, drugs don't change who you are. They may lower your inhibitions, making the craziest thoughts sound like a good idea. But those thoughts were already inside you.

With respect to addiction, I have found that it is mostly in one's head. If you think you need something, then you will act accordingly, and vice versa.

Again, if you educate yourself and take all the necessary precautions, it's POSSIBLE to do drugs with negligible damage. The real question is ARE you going to put in the extra effort. God knows I haven't.

Good question. Come to think of it, I don't think there has been a positive result from taking harder drugs. Unless ecstasy would fall under that category, because that changed everything in a positive way. Coke? Fuck no, that turns me into a sketchy fiend. Meth? Fuck no, that turns me into a paranoid sketchbag. Crack? Fuck no, that - shit, I shouldn't even have to give an explanation for that.

However, oxy, that's a tough one (if its considered hard). The good things was that it really controlled my emotion levels, and allowed me to be a lot nicer and considerate (while on it), and also when I wasn't using I kinda had a more positive mood in general because I knew that in x amount of days I'd get my oxy after going through x amount of days of typical life bullshit. One the other hand, oxy was the first drug I became completely addicted to, and really fucked up my 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd year in university - it also hit my wallet hard. The weekly/bi-weekly withdrawal was brutal.

Yeah, there have been positive results. I am trying smoking, snorting, and shooting heroin today for the first time. Done everything else, even snorted crappy heroin twice. It's just a drug. And I'm not fiendish for opiates/opioids

Heck no don't "experiment" with harder drugs. Believe me.. you'll chase a crack pipe the rest of your life. You might put it down, but it'll stay in the back of your mind.

What's a hard drug?

Is alcohol a hard drug? It's easy to puke on, get in trouble with, and you can overdose and die.

I've had fun experimenting with LSD. People consider that a hard drug.

Yeah exactly. Just like how a few months ago I couldn't stop puking from alcohol and could have choked to death. All drugs should be respected.

but probably still safer then the psychedelic PEA's

I don't think that;s correct at all. Yes A couple of people have overdosed on the 2c-t-x compounds but how may overdoses a year are attributed to heroin or coke?

Also, the majority (95% or up i'd say) of people using 2c-x's are using them once a month or less. Why don't you try and just do IV heroin once a month and see how that turns out?

And, the 2c-x's without the t's have never had a lethal overdose, ever. A guy here on bluelight accidentally took 250 mg 2c-i (strong dose is ~24mg) thinking it was methlyone and survived with no horrible effects. Didn't even need hospitalization.

Saying that hard drugs that have been used to tranquilize or etc in the 70's (pcp)
are safer than phenethlyamines is just erroneous.

if your an addict, your gonna be an addict no matter what. Drugs just seem to bring out the worst of it, because to an addict there is nothing better than drugs. If you have any addictive tendencies it'd probably be best to leave those drugs alone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people that are going to tell you "No don't do heroin, blah blah blah" because I used to want to try every drug I could and for the most part I did and nothing anyone told me could ever change my mind.

I've had friends who did heroin with me a few times, but as soon as they had consequences they quit. I wasn't one of those people.

You'll probably get results if you try those drugs, but rarely will they ever be positive. On one hand you may be able to handle them, but on the other you might not.

Just think about if your really ready to make that commitment, because if you are an addict and you dont know it yet, doing some of those drugs will most likely lead you to find out. And it you'll probably be too fucked up to care by the time you realize it.
Just my half a cent.

I am not a drug advocate, and what works for me may not work for you. But, in all sincerity, trying heroin is one of the stupidest decisions I have ever made... that had the best, most amazing outcome.

I love heroin, and I love using heroin recreationally. It's not a problem for me. It's great to grab a couple bundles, hang out on the weekend, and go back to work Monday.

That being said, making the decision to try heroin in the first place was incredibly stupid. It's like putting a gun into your mouth, pulling the trigger and praying that it's unloaded. If this is your substance, the one that will grab you and make an addict out of you, well... then you're in for a world of pain and misery.

Heck no don't "experiment" with harder drugs. Believe me.. you'll chase a crack pipe the rest of your life. You might put it down, but it'll stay in the back of your mind.

I hop that's not directed towards my comment. I'm one of the crazies on this site. Except that I'm clean now. No desire t do drugs anymore. I've suffered enough misery. Plus, I hate crack; I actually have a resentment towards that drug because of what it did to my brother...just like he has one towards meth for what it did to me.

You can try heroin by snorting it instead of Iving. Either way, you will be hooked forever. So if you wanna be hooked on heroin the rest of your life, then try it...nothing good will come of it. Lots of negatives will come of it. You will spend your last dime to get it, you will sell anything of value to get it and lastly, you will rip off your family, your friends and after that, you will sell your body for it or start robbing people and banks for it.

I was snorting OC's. When the new Abuse proof formula came out last fall, I tried heroin. I have never stopped after trying it once........I spend every dime on it even if it means starving my family and my animals. I have to have it every day.....if that means rice and ham or balogna for my dogs, thats what they will get in order for me to get my h for the day...it's pretty sad. I sell my scripts to get it. So I am in a better position than most people who do it. But when they run out...everyone suffers. Not just the addict. So think of the other people in your life that depend on you and then reconsider what you'd like to try...in my opinion, if you want to ruin your life, then go for it.

going through an addiction to oxycontin being 15-17 years old really changed who I am as a person, and made me alot more mature. So I think it had a positive result on my life

For me, it started out with "I'll try anything once". And I felt like I stayed that way for a while. However, I'm not sure when exactly it happened but I went from just experimenting with the hard stuff to being totally hooked. Cocaine, meth, and opiates became a constant.

I can't say I've had positive results. I mean, I'm still hooked. I do feel good while using, but hell I can't be totally trashed all the time. Costs too much for one, and tolerance goes up, and the longer a binge goes, the worse I feel after the fact. Now, I've had great times while on these drugs. But I could have had fun without em. Honestly, if I knew back then what I know today, I would have never deviated from weed alone.
