Hey! I'd love to hear what your opinions are on my preferred method of administering dilaudid. By the way, before you tell me to go bang it or something, just realize, that I am not interested in that (scared of needles.) So, what I do is, take the pill(s) and crush them into a fine powder, then I scoop the powder into a bowl, mix it with 3-4 ml of water, and stir it until the powder appears to be dissolved. Then, I proceed to suck the liquid up through an oral syringe. From there, I slowly, over the course of about 30 minutes, drip the solution into my nose while leaning my head back, over the edge of my bed (so it doesn't all drip down my throat.) So far, as far as I can tell, this has worked well for me, and seems to do more then when I just snort the powder. The reason I do this, is that I read somewhere that the bioavailability of intranasal hydromorphone is raised when mixed with water due to better absorption. So what do you think? Is what I'm doing pointless, or do you think it's a good route of administration? Can you think of any better ways to administer dilaudid intranasaly? Thanks for the help!
