Experimental/Chillout/Ambient/Downtempo/Trip hop MEGATHREAD

^ really feeling that Chris&Cosey and Tears of Ochre tracks. gotta look more into them (chris & cosey) from time to time i come across throbbing gristle / psychic tv related content just never looked into it deeper.

digging the Emuul atm...is whats needed.

hehe, yes it is a very good idea to dig deeper with those two;-)
they have around 40 years worth of electronica and indusrtiul stuff compiled(as you must be aware of), its been 7-8 months of myself digging...
CTI is the project that fueled my fire originally after listening to TG, and Psy TV or Coil for many years -
'CTI Europe Rendevous' is Chris/Cosey, but with other musicians(not Genesis) along live.
;-)
CTI Mary

Edit:
i listened to that Mary track above, then directed myself immediately to itunes for the album before even finishing it.

nice, yea i love that 80s raw electronic synth wave. haven't had the chance yet but definitely gonna do some "diggin" this weekend. when ya get a minute check out http://www.20jazzfunkgreats.co.uk/wordpress/ ( blog named after TG's 3rd album ) they promote stuff id imagine you would like. more obscure, underground music of all kinds but leans toward more electronic stuff.

haha cool, okay -;-)
hot on the heels - discipline - convincing people, are my favorites from - 20 Jazz Funk Greats the album, i dont what i would think i found that in the record store, the cover just craxs me up...

I just finished listening to Ott's Mir all the way through.

Man, that guy's production skills are absolutely unmatched. The way he uses electronics to create such incredibly intricate, deep, rich, organic, alien sounds just blows my mind.

Nobody can touch the guy, right now. Except maybe Simon Posford, and maybe Flying Lotus. *edit* Actually, Liquid Stranger's pretty good at this sort of thing too. Listen to "The Arcane Terrain".

I seriously cannot believe i missed this release, actually i didn't expect another release so soon after Interloper and allowed myself to fall out of the loop. Much thanks for bringing this to my attention.

since trying to critique incredible musicians brings about more incredible music...i must say as an almost two decade listener of simon P and Raja, as well as long time listener of Ott, that cevin Key has always been a legend, and there is no hit or miss.
;-)
soon after Twisted Records opened up they lost mhe, as a Psy/Goa DJ vinyl purchaser as well. to each his own though - this is the essence of variety

DownLoad\Ayahuasca

Involution - Clairaudience
^my personal favorite album, or piece of music, next to any.

Aphasia -

~ Dragon Experience ~

Music For Cats - Wind On Small Paws

Celtic Cross is one of Simon Posfords projects I never see mention of, this is IMO, one of the best damn pieces of music period, very influential on the genre...

hi,

i just joined this forum because i like the (electronic) music-section such much!

Usually i am in progressive trance but some month ago i discovered ambient, which i like a lot for chilling, afterhours and dreaming. I bought some CDs from Ultimae (aes dana and h.u.v.a. network) for example. most of the CDs have a few tracks with hypnotic 4/4-beats, which i like the most. unfortunatly most of the CDs have only few tracks with these amazing beats, so i am wondering wether there are artists with fulllengths albums which are almost full of downtempo-4/4-beat-tracks, that are very ambient-chill-like. Im looking for music like these songs:

listen to these tracks, they are magnificent.

any advice for me?

peace!
