lately i've been experiementing with elemi oil and nutmeg oil as psychedelics. they work pretty well and out of the two i find nutmeg oil a bit stronger and longer lasting, although elemi oil is interesting in it's own right.

has anybody tried these oils(what kind of effects did they have on you)?

i have not consumed elemi or nutmeg oil AS a psychoactive, however I am a firm believer in the power of essential oils as SUPPLEMENTS to a psychoactive experience.

have you ever smelled a field of lavender while tripping? i'm practically orgasmic just imagining it right now :)

elemi oil is a bit mild imo, but nutmeg oil(with black pepper to potentiate) is pretty strong. it reminds me of low dose mescaline and weed. it also has some empathogen qualities(although not like MDMA or MDA, of course).

one thing is for sure nutmeg oil is WAY better than powdered nutmeg, theres no nausea and its easier to get down so its not like ingesting the digusting powder.

I've read a lot about elemi oil lately, as well as sassafras.

Some fascinating reading out there about the psychoactivity of these substances. 69ron, a person on a couple different drug forums has plenty of interesting topics on this subject.

Personally, I've experimented with sassafras a few times now and must say I have gotten quite pleasurable body highs from it, but not much mental effect to speak of.

I've tried powdered nutmeg and (regrettably) purchased essential elemi oil after hearing it overhyped at a similar place. I was generally very dissappointed. Though some mild visual and mild nutmeg-like psychedelia were noticed, it gave my stomach a nasty feeling, utterly disgusting burps and real bad headache. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the stuff. I don't hate sobriety that much :p

if i remember right, the opinion on elemi oil is pretty split. some say it does nothing, some praise it. personally ive not tried it, but would give it a shot if i ever come across it.

however, nutmeg oil? how different is it form nutmeg (powder) which ive herad only bad things about...

Be careful with sassafras oil, it can be quite toxic. Ingestion of sassafras oil has proven fatal in humans. Non-fatal overdose can cause liver and kidney damage, and safrole exposure has been showed to cause malignant heptic tumors in laboratory animals.

Here's a quote from drugs.com:

Oil of sassafras is toxic in doses as small as 5 ml in adults. 21 Ingestion of 1 tsp (5 ml) produced shakes, vomiting, high blood pressure and pulse in a 47-year-old female. 22 Another case of a 1 tsp dose of sassafras oil in a young man also caused vomiting, along with dilated pupils, stupor and collapse. 4 There have been additional reports of the oil being fatal, 5 causing abortion 4 and causing liver cancer. 1 , 4 , 5 Safrole is a potent inhibitor of liver microsome hydroxylating enzymes; this effect may result in toxicity caused by altered drug metabolism. 19 Aqueous and alcoholic extracts of root bark can cause a range of effects in mice, inducing ataxia, ptosis, hypersensitivity to touch, CNS depression and hypothermia. Symptoms of sassafras oil poisoning in humans may include vomiting, stupor, lowering of body temperature, exhaustion, tachycardia, spasm, hallucinations, paralysis and collapse. 1 , 5

Not safrole oil, sassafras root. Actual root bark from a sassafras plant. I also have a tincture made from the root.

I've read about the toxicity of safrole in rats, however there is little-to-no evidence that it has the same effect on humans. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, there is evidence (although not overly credible) that it is NOT toxic to humans. After all, sassafras tea has been used for centuries.

I really enjoy the taste of it, and the body rushes you get from it are really not unlike MDMA. I just wish it had the same euphoric effect too. :)

I spent considerable effort in following up on 69Rons ideas about sassafrass bark combined with blue/german chamomile oil and cinnamon oil - long story short, got nothing out of it at all.
Well thats not true , the cinnamon oil aggravated a stomach ulcer pretty severely.

Look, 69ron is a legend. He definitely has some valid ideas, his cacti extraction tek is revolutionary, and he is definitely far more knowledgeable than most. That being said, someimes I have to wonder. I mean there are all the comments about the oils, and then you see FV selling them... and more than a few people believe Ron *is* FV. I personally think he's a genius and I don't think he has anything but good intentions, but sometimes I think he drinks a little too much of his own Kool-aid (99% purity claims on cacti extracts, the whole THH scandal, etc.)

i don't doubt that 69ron is a smart guy with great ideas, but i was experimenting with essential oils(nutmeg in particular) before he was.

check out this thread i made a long time ago:

i came up with the same results with nutmeg and black pepper(he uses German chamomile).

i do praise him because when i came across this discovery A LOT of people doubted me, but his work confirmed it and now the psychedelic effects of essential oils is well known.
