Experienced Snorters, After How Long Does Snorting Become a Problem?

So for all you insufflaters out there, whether it's coke, prescription meds, or some primo H, how long before you start experiencing nasal problems like nosebleeds, or congestion or pain? A few months? A year? Is it different depending on the substance & the person?

I say this because I generally don't like snorting anything, but I've found it's a much more economic route with my current drug of choice.

So any experienced snorters out there willing to share their advice?

Thanks

odd...I used to snort x ALL the time and never experience problems. And I wasn't just getting molly...There's no telling what was in all those pills lol.

I've snorted all kinds of stuff for many, many years, and never had an issue. It really depends on the substance. If you are snorting coke all the time, you could get a nosebleed in a week, if you are snorting stuff like heroin or pills, you might not ever get a nosebleed.

Cocaine is one of the worst things for your nose, as it's a vasoconstrictor, reducing the blood supply so your nose can't repair any damage as well. Longterm insufflation of coke can lead to necrosis of the septum as well, causing a hole and collapse of your nasal bridge.. not sure how long this takes, but it is a very real danger.

bupes absolutely thrashed the ol bracket. id imagine snorting shards of glass is easier on the nose than subs. Most H (excluding some) and oxys smooth sailing.

I've been snorting everyday for about a year now, and I never had any nosebleeds. I haven't really noticed anything different except maybe my sense of smell isn't as good as it was. And when I'm not snorting pills my nose tends to run more then normal!

Coke is really the only thing that caused me to have nose bleeds or even leave m with a blocked nose for any period of time. I've done embarrassing amounts of methadrone in a session with no real nasal issues at all same goes for MDPV,or other random crushed pills etc...except Chlorpromazine.........never and and mean never snort Chlormpromazine....and don't ask why I did it either ;)

I was doing about a half gram of coke every day for two months and never had issues with nosebleeds i just had dryness. Im not an expert but I'm guessing that whatever the drugs are cut with would irritate the nasal membranes more than the actual coke, heroin or whatever.

It depends on the stuff, definitely. I used to snort all kinds of things. I have little scars on the roof of my mouth behind each nostril that burn if I play with them with my tongue... this is certainly from snorting. Also, I've taken up running lately and have to literally focus on holding my nostrils open to get sufficient air flow after sprinting. Notice how most athletes have big nostrils... Mine are small and difficult to breathe through. I have to believe that snorting helped my nostrils become more inefficient. It seems like they will get better though with time.

To answer your question of how long it takes, I'd say it's something that gets progressively worse over time. Each thing you snort seems to add up.

I'm sure you have a valid point but coke definitely damages your nose due to it being a constrictor, nothing else I've heard of can actually make a hole in your septum ! but I'm guessing there are other things

Coke severely damages your nose, I lost most of the upper inner part of me left nostril a few years ago, I had been smelling a burning sort of smell, and had no feeling for a few months, then one morning just blew me nose and a load of jellified flesh came out in a a load of blood...my left nostril now just leads yo a gaping cavern....can't put aything up there any more as it feels like it'd just shoot straight out my ear.....

It was about 10 years ago, my left nostril still produces almost no mucous, and can't smell, and if I even try to put the tiniest bit of anything up there I have earache and pains for a few days after....even when me right one is blocked, I can't use the left at all, very bad....that was just through coke....

I now a bit more careful, if I've ad a night snorting, meph or whatever, I always snort a load of water up me nose before bed, and snort and blow water for ages til it feels a bit better.......

I dunno how long me right nostril's got now tbh...

That why i quite like plugging stuff now =D

Hmmmm, I dunno, my left nostril that's buggered, doesn't produce mucous, and the cavity is HUGE....this the only good thing...I can ALWAYS breathe through me left one since so much necrotic flesh came out of it, it never gets blocked, even if I have a cold, and can always intake lots of air through it...my left (fucked up) nostril, is massive. Bad thing is on a cold day breathing straight in through me left nostril gives me an instant "ice-cream headache" and severe earache.....

I've never seen a doctor about it, but when I've had surgery I've had to tell the anaesthetist so they don't try and feed oxygen lines up me left nostril, fuck knows where they'd come out......

Mailmonkey, oh my god man that sounds awful. So sorry to hear that.

I've only done coke once & yes it was very fun, but not something I wanted to get into.
As of now, I'm blowing some oxys, adderall xrs and methylphenidate (which is almost as nice as coke, I might add)

Only been a few weeks, but I'm starting to experience some congestion and dryness, was wondering if I should stop before it gets worse.
I got a pretty big schnoz, the powder always has plenty of room to go haha

it took a few years of all day every day coke use to really fuck me nostril....

And I think if you rinse your nostrils properly you'll prevent damage too, I never did that.

Daily snorting of anything is going to cause you bother in the end.

Yea, I have been snorting a lot of different drugs for several years. I experienced slight pain and discomfort for a few months when I was young but other than that nothing

Yeah, but do you sprint? I doubt you're going to notice the narrowing of your nostrils if you're just breathing normally all the time. Your body adapts to whatever conditions you expose it to. If you're not running hard and continually shoving stuff up your nose, you're not going to have as much air flow as if you run and don't snort stuff. You'll have a nose adapted to being routinely filled with powders.

A related question: how long after a night of insufflating coke (or some other substance) does it take for your nasal passages to heal?

I don't sprint, but I'm a postman, I walk at fast pace, with 16-18 kilos of mail round me neck, high heart rate, and full sweat, for 3-5hours per day.....

Even with a cold, my left nostril doesn't become blocked, and intakes air very very well, (much better than my right nostril which I now use for drugs)

BUT, I haven't put anything up my left nostril more than 3 times in the last 5 years cos it causes so many complications.

Anything that is in a acid/salt form is the most damaging to your nose. Most of these are going to be in hydrochloric form. Any of these will erode the inside of your nose. It's a matter of vascular constricting properties, ph of the compound, and frequency of usage. In any case, flushing after a session is always severely helpful in diluting the acid to a level where tissue erosion is not an issue.
