Exercising on stimulants

riding a bike for 5 miles over flat terrain while on a moderate dose of ritalin is not dangerous unless you're obese or have a heart defect. if it was kids would be dropping off their bikes in neighborhoods across america. biking on flat terrain is not much more strenuous than walking! all the references to professional athletes dying seems irrelevant, this is light exercise we're talking about here.

all i can say is after a night of doing some blow, and drinking, all leading to insomnia i went to the gym and i did actually have the energy to do more reps than normal, but i also felt like i was using NOS. Thats to say a car will go faster when using nitrous, however its damaing to the engine... enough said.

^Exactly, it was very moderate exercise, and I am in good shape! My heart rate barely increased, and I think if you are healthy exercise and stimulants (except cocaine) isn't all that bad, as long as it's moderate on both ends. Cheers....

Cocaine is a totally different story than (d)-amphetamine. Cocaine is a Na channel blocker and by itself causes heart arrhythmias and (possibly) stokes. Methylphenidate is far cleaner (pharmacologically) than cocaine, but still has mysterious cardiotoxicity at high doses. The least cardiotoxic stimulant is a small dose of (d)-amphetamine.

When I said very small dose of cocaine, I could have meant 1mg.

Surely 1mg is less cardiotoxic than 30 mg of (d)-amphetamine. If not, than maybe I meant 1 ug.

Bottom line, any amount of cocaine hydrochloride you would do would most - likely be far more cardiotoxic than a similar dose of amphetamine.

I have been using either meth or Ritalin prior to weight lifting once a week for about a year I guess. Ritalin is not something I would want to use before an endurance workout though. It doesn't give you that "could go forever" feeling like amphetamines.

I could see how Ritalin could potentially have a negative effect on endurance.

Exactly my point. I thought it was odd that the person said a SMALLER dose of an amphetamine is lesss cardiotoxic than coke. This is completely throwing off the whole balance thing. It was like saying it's more likely to OD on LSD than a very small amount of heroin. Duh. But that's not really a fair thing to say, because the amounts are different.

Well actually, 15 mg of H is tolerable, but 15 mg of LSD is definately not. I meant relative to the doses (like average dose of LSD is 100 micrograms while h is 15 mg)

Bad example, but I believe you understand my point.
