Opioids Exalgo experiences ?

I'd basically been told by my pain management doc that I could get this over my currently prescribed Dilaudid, if I preferred it. My current Dilaudid dose = 4 mg's....3 times a day. Basically my only complaint to him was the short acting nature of it.

For people that don't know, Exalgo is the extended release version of Dilaudid.

For people that have tried Exalgo, is it basically the same feeling as Dilaudid ? That's my only worry....as one time we switched from Dilaudid to Morphine Sulfate for a month....and it was horrible. MS just made me super sad every minute I was on it. It was so bad, I had to go in and return it.. (they filled out some form and flushed it down the toilet, and gave me my script for Dilaudid) Even I didn't expect MS to be this horrible....maybe something with my tolerance issues over the years.

I do have expericene with Exaglo, alothough they were not takin as were supposed to be(I slammed them), first opiate I did that with(opiate tolerance was zero at the time), they were the 8mg Exaglo's, it was heavenly. How do you take your meds? Not gonna reccomend slamming them to ya, but I also experimented with plugging them, and this method works sooo much better than eating/snorting, it last sooo much longer this way. But yes, Exaglo is the same feeling as Dillies, just time realease, but that can be broken. Highly suggest if you switch to them to look into plugging them, they last longer that way, can't stress that enough.

I appreciate the insight. What dosage would you say 4 mg of dilly is equivalent to Exalgo wise ? (so I know what to tell him)

And any other experiences from others = appreciated as well.

If I do get it, i'll report back here my experience. Glad to hear everything is similar to dillies.

^4mg dilly is equivalent to a 4mg exalgo. exalgo is just the brand name for the 24hr time release version of Dilaudid (hydromorphone)

Exalgo is the same thing as Jurnista, correct? Push/pull EROS, very difficult to abuse by snorting/injecting?

I liked Jurnista quite a bit, some literature claims that hydromorphone is not as euphoric orally as say oxycodone but I thoroughly enjoyed Jurnista 8mg the three times or so that I had it. I equated it to oxycodone IR 10 every hour or 2 or so, constantly, in terms of euphoria. Tried rectal too, it was a bit weird not sure that it worked as intended but it worked and was a great euphoria. Lasts about 6 hours, oxycodone IR is about 3 hours for me (sad panda). Great drug, blows morphine sulphate CR out of the water (okay euphoria from 4x10s, 1x60, but not from 1x100??? not my favorite substance), helped my shoulder/arm/underarm significantly with pain -- too bad my PM docs are all crap these days and IDK how to find a decent one. Won't even write me soma (wtf?) or any fking narcotic, have to deal with topicals and muscle relaxants other than soma, she tells me to "live with it" b/c I'm only a 5 on the pain scale (6-7 some days), she is full of shit but it's hard to find decent doctors these days as they all seem to be connected, maybe I have to go for MMT if I want a decent quality of life.

Anyway I highly encourage hydromorphone for pain, great results, great euphoria, even if it is a foreign brand which albeit appears to be equal to Exalgo in most every way.
