just out of curioisty...

to anyone who knows...

how much oxycontin would PhreeX (dave) average a day? In miligrams.

I know this is a rahter personal question, but if Dave were here I'm sure he'd say --- so how much he average?

Im just wondering because, I average about only 25 mg a day, but am about to quit.

just wanted to compare myself to a hardcore user....

I wouldnt consider someone scripted Fentalyn for medical reasons a "hard-core" drug user, and I would definetly not consider phreex as the above. He was just some kid that couldnt control his own drug use and had a cult like following on a message board...

One thing i know is that you cant tell ANYONE to stop doing something. They have to WANT it and DO it themselves. Trust me know one can tell me anything. Unfortunately I have learned alot of things the "hard" way. Some people just need to do this. Its h way some live thier lives. I understand Phree-X still wanting to use. When you get into opiates as heavily as he did its a life long addiction I do not know him nor have i ever spoken to him ( i "know" him only from these boards). . But i know many people like him. But think if it happend so easily this time....it can happen just as easily next time. And the results might not be a recovery. Just from one addict to another Phree-X when u get around to reading this, i feel you and feel for for you. The thing that upset me the most when i went thrue a bad opiate addiction wasn't bieng sick, wasn't burning holes in myslef, wasn't losing alot of good friends, wasnt bieng looked down upon as a dope fiend, it was the pain i put my Family thrue. Its just not fair to them. Anyways i must admit i still use opiates *Occasionally* and dont plan on stopping. Good Luck, Healthy, and Safe Using

I was under the impression that they were not by prescription and he used the patches to get a bigger kick out of the oxys, because he had such a high tolerance for them. But I could be wrong.

In any case, I believe he was among the heaviest long-term users of opiates around here, and while this whole "who is hardcore" competition is just suicidal meaningless crap, I'd definitely say he's up there among the most serious users around here.

When I hear people arguign over who is "hardcore" , I can't help but think of Brandon Vega slumped dead infront of his computer because he wanted to prove something...

from what he recently told me, he was prescribed fentanyl, and his prescription is going to continue after all of this.

who is brandon vega? a BLer or a case from a news report?

Curious: OK, thanks for the info, I'm not really all that familiar with his case history, I just know he used to do a lot of speed and then turned to opiates and was a bit of a fent expert (he made a lot of informative posts on it, and I was told Fent was one of the things he was taking when he OD'd).

Brandon Vega, aka "Ripper" is the kid that overdosed on IRC and webcam. It's nothing personal against anyone, I just have issue with people questioning other peoples "hard core" status because it's rarely anything to be proud of anyway.

In any case, best of luck to Dave, hope he gets better and starts posting again soon :)

Phreex was full of misinformation...

Ill just leave it at that

thanks for leaving it at that8) now why don't you just leave, and sod off while you are at it.

does anyone know when and if he is up for more visits? i'd like to go see dave, but don't want to drive down to be turned away.

Well at least his tolerance is going to plummet. My one friend had 2 heart attacks off crack and he still smokes, some people are just really dedicated. I personally am glad to hear that he isn't doing a 180 and becoming an Anti-Drug spokesperson. Either way though, I am really happy to here he is alive and well, I wish him the best.

hello

Wow- I know it's been a long time since I posted....time has gone by way too fast since all this has happened. I really don't know what to say at this point. For the good news....yes, he's alive, fully recovered..doing great. I couldn't be more happy. On the bad side....Dave will look you straight in the face and tell you how he is going to continue living like he has been...b/c he loves it so much. A part of me had hoped that this experience would scare him into sobriety..maybe even make him forget that part of himself that liked...or even knew of the drug world. It was just wishful thinking....i guess. I'll continue to hope for a bright future for him...living is a good start...unfortunantly it looks like he is wanting to fall back into his old ways....fast. He already plans on using his fent perscription the police left to a doctor...and getting more. There's no doubt in my head that he will get OXY pretty easy.....there's really nothing my family and I can do at this point. We'd like to thank everyone for their support.....if anyone has any amazing recovery stories they want to share with me....I know I'd love to hear them....and keep on getting support. These times are just really hard....I don't know or understand if Dave fully realizes what he's gone through...what the families gone through...part of me thought it was the drugs that made him like that...but now that he's clean....I guess a bigger part of it is really him.....thats somthing thats very hard to swallow. I feel like I dont know him anymore....better yet--I dont think I ever did. On Mothers Day I went and saw him ....and at Denny's he actually said that death probably would have been very peaceful.......this was very upsetting to hear.....I just don't know. Posting on here has been very theraputic for me.....hearing others posts has been hopefull.....Although I do feel as though I am invading on my brothers "world" ....so I think I will stop....I don't want to piss him off...he's home now...and sleeping...he'll be here to live for quite some time....I dont know if hes going to rehab or not.....if he gets to decide...its a definite NO.....we would like him to go....but he says it wont do any good. He doesnt want to change.....this is a harsh reality I'm afraid I have come to terms with.....as saddening as that it to my family and I. I told him in the hospital in a card that if he needed me I would be there...to take him anyone for help.....he gave me a hug that day....and it was the first time he had hugged me in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. I'm talking years here. I thought that was a start...but I think he was just really depressed at the time...and has changed already. He'll probably get mad at me for posting stuff like this....Im sure this isnt the Dave he wants you all to know.....so I'll stop. I just wanted to say a final thanks to you guys.....It means more than you can imagine.....

seems a bit strange that he would be given a perscription (or allowed to keep his perscription) for fentanyl considering he was using it when he OD'd and he has made it clear that he will continue to abuse drugs.. are these doctors retarded or am I missing something...

ah I'm an old hippy

I don'yt know ya, but . . .

I seem to have lost my spirit. I hope it's out there doing something useful like helping you. But I need it back as soon as you can make do with another

i've been wondering that the whole time; hopefully dave will explain how this can happen.

{{{Ashlies}}} ~~*~Huggles n Kissies~*~~

This whole event has reminded me of an old saying. I'm almost positive your familiar with it. ***You Can Leed A Horse To Water But, Yoo Cant Make Him Drink***.

Sweetheart, theres only so much yoo can do about your brothers intentions yunno'? It's clear that Dave has made a choice *not the greatest one either imo* to continue using. As his sister, and also as Daves friend there is NOTHING we can do to change his desire to use again. Sad but true. All we can do, your entire family
included, is just BE there for him no matter whut. At least thats whut I'm planning on doing, whether he goes back to his love for opiates or not. I plan on being there for him in the same manner he was for me on so many occassions. YOO ASHLIE in my eyes played a HUGE role in Daves survival. YOO have not only been an OUTSTANDING sister to him but also a perfect symbol of SUPPORT.
YOO ASHLIE were the one who stood by him 24/7. I cannot help but APPLAUD this. YOO have been there for Dave in so many ways
that I personally believe that Dave would no longer be with us
had yoo not been by his side. AGAIN this is ADMIRABLE f'reals.

YES it woulda been nice had Dave not remembered the event and completely forgot about using at all. I thought the same and im sure others did here as well. But, Un-fucking-fortunately he does remember. Sounds as tho Dave doesnt just remember it but he misses using as well. Let me just say that Dave is clean right now *as far as I know* and as his friend I would give ANYTHING and i meen ANYTHING too see him STAY that way. I belive that there is are reasons why dave didnt die from this tragic event . The #1. Reason is that it just simply NOT his time to go and #2 Dave, whether yoo believe this or not, Dave has so much more to offer to this world seen as how he is so SMART in so many different ways. I'm NOT just talking about his knowledge about drugs here.
I'm talking about how Dave is SO knowledgeable about life in general. Which is one of the reasons I could not fathom Dave making a *mistake* like this. #3. In knowing Dave I know that he just has SO much more POSITIVE and UNREMARKABLE qualities that should most deffinately be shared with the rest of us and #4. The support and prayers Dave recieved from his friends and family. Without the three things I mentioned above I really feel that his chance of survival was nill.

Ashlie, I really hope yoo have a chance to read this. YOO must take a step back and allow your brother to continue in his self destruct mode. I KNOW its hard, but it must be done. The ball is in Daves court now and if HE decides he wants out, I can almost guarentee yoo that it will happen. But, as said already, this has to be Daves decision, not yours, not your families, and not even his friends. I knowabout this personally cuz my best friend of TWENTY years is now struggling with both anorexia and bullimia. Shes only 29yo and has already had two heartattacts due to her disorders. I've tried to help her get through this alive n well. I tried EVERYTHING. But un-fucking-fortunately whutever I said to her went in one ear n out the other I got to the point with my friend where I just backed off a bit. I realized and opened up my eyes to the fact that all I could do to help is just BE there for her through good times and bad. FYI: Both bullimia and anorexia are proven to be addictive in nature. So, perhaps you'll just have to do the same thing that I did with my friend of twenty years. iunno.

Ashie, PLEASE have no fears about posting updates about your brother here. Yoo have done the right thing in keeping us all updated on his condition. I'm really not sure whut we woulda done without yoo. *grins*

Karin.

PS: Looking forward to Daves responses to HIS post :X

PPS: I miss the FUK outa Dave :(
