tramadol's half life is 5.5-7 hours according to wii, so would it be safe to take 200mg of tramadol max every 2.5 (roughly) hours?
also it says on wiki the ROA's include intranasal and IV..... does anyone have any experiences with these RoA's on tramadol, i usually just eat them....
thanks
edit: the general anasteasia must still be lingering, i was on a tramadol IV drip a few hurs ago, i guess what i'm asking is if anyone has IV'ed tramadol pills(say 100-200mg)? is there a rush like morphine? or is it pointless because te more potent O-desethyltramadol gets produced trough the digestive system...; if you see what i mean since the max dosage per 24 hour for parenteral use is way higher than oral?

edit, edit: i just read on wiki "The maximum dosage per day is 400 mg for oral use and 600 mg for parenteral use." is that because more would put one at risk of having a seizure? coz if the half life is max 7 hours its safe to dose more than 400mg every 24 hours no?

Im not certain on this... but from my understanding Tramadol itself has a very very very weak agonist actions itself. Where the subjective good effects start is usually around hour one and its because tramadol has been converted into M1 which is still weak in the grand scheme of things but relative to tramadol M1 is signifig stronger at the MU site. Think thats why its stated the best way to attain the opioid effects is to dose every hour or so to allow the tramadol to clear(shorter half life 6.5 to 9-10 for M1) and have more M1.

So I would guess that snorting or Iving would bring on more SNRI properties than the opioid properties.

I read a few places that a starting dose of 100-200 and then 50mg every 1-1.5 there after to a max of 600mg(might be 800mg-forgot exactly)...

Yes, going over the MAX daily dose or taking the max daily dose at once gives a greater chance of having a seizure.

No no no.

Tramadol gives you a greater chance of seizures (like others have mentioned), and also increases yor risk of serotonin syndrome which is very unpleasant. It's not worth. Tramadol is very weak anyway IMO.

^^ you said (paraphrased, "don't do that much it will cause seizures" and i was talking about 400mg every 24 hours startedhydro says over 600mg24 hours;;;
and yes i know taking too much tramadol can put you at risk of seizures... but i'm asking how much... also yes tramadol is weak, but it's effect as a serotonin releasing agent and its other various effects besides its opioide activity is actually quite pleasant... i did 200mg, then 100g 1 hour later and 100mg one hour after that and had a pleasant high, a kindof speedy opiate high... i used to despise tramadol a bit but i guess i quite enoyd it this time

Tramadol is a weak opioid but it has major SSNRI effects. What that means is it acts like a antidepressant. You also lower your seizure thresh hold. If you take it in high doses or long enough you can have withdrawals like antidepressant do. I hate that drug. On one prescribed dose it gave me a headache for 3 days.

I really enjoy tramadol. I have always read, and been told that 400mg for 24 hours was maximum reccomended dose because of seizures. I went on a couple long binges on them and withdrawals were awful. As for ROA, I have only personally done oral. I have seen people snort them but from my understanding its really not worth it. On the other I beleive I have heard that tramadol comes in ampules that meant for IV. If I remember correctly these are not found in the US but I will have to look up this again. Personally I have doses up to 1800mg and never had a seizure but I really dont reccomend it because everyone is different.

IMO its not a bad opioid. The major issue resides in one's tolerance to opioids/opiates in general as this is what limits tramadols positive effects. When I had a low tolerance this opioid could have me feeling very energitic, motivated, euphoric and this feelings could last 6-10 hours easily. With a price of next to nothing from the pharm or on street they were fantastic. Once my tolerance built up I used tramadol differently, instead of being something that would produce euphoria, rather id stockpile them and use on the days when my DOC was out of supply, dealer fell asleep for two days straight, script of DOC was out... tramadol would stop withdrawals in its tracks and for a major portion of the day due to longer half life.

Tramadol is a great addition to any persons opiate/opioid warchest. Tramadol has saved my ass way to many times that I can count. You just have to know its limitations.

It's not something to be abused due to the seizure factor. Snorting and injecting pills is always a bad idea due to the filler they use to bind the pill. Unles it's a drug that you can perform an extraction process, it's best to just eat them as directed.

300-400mg is the only dosage at what i find tramadol kind of recreational. not that i recommend or encourage taking it at these dosages. however there was only one incident in my life where i needed it for post-surgical pain (in retrospect, i could have used and should have demanded something a lot stronger as the tramadol just turned agonizing pain into moderate pain) and back then (been a while) the regimen was 4x100mg daily i think. i should add that they were IR. and that i'm not certain on the length of time between pills, but considering how long a day is and considering 8 hours of sleep as average then it's fairly easy to do the math.
