1:15 "WHAT COUNTRY IS THIS? WHAT COUNTRY IS THIS?"

GEORGIA -- In some Georgia counties, as well as all over the USA, drivers are getting their blood forcibly stolen from them. As shown in this video, every driver who refuses to give the police a blow, even for misdemeanor offenses, is strapped to a table, put into a headlock by a police officer, and their blood forcibly taken.

welcome to the usa

if the police have a warrant for your blood* there's not much you can do though. the cops in the usa can ruin your life at a moments notice and there is very little you can do. they can take your car, your posessions, even your life away and in many cases you can be left with no legal recourse if you are "in the wrong".

i'm suprised they don't just charge him with "terrorist acts" and put him in gitmo for a while. he's obviously thinking too hard.

* have you heard my metal band's latest album - Warrant For Your Blood?

"I'll push you to the pavement
Drag your name through mud
Make you feel the needle 'cause
I've got a warrant for your blood!

Warrant for your bloooood!"

Yeah. This is some fucked up stuff alright. It's only a matter of time before some trypanophobe sues a police department for severe emotional trauma.

Scary.

If they refuse to take a breath test, they should be arrested for not doing it. When they are arrested then they should force them to to the blow test. If they keep refusing to doit, then there should be a serious penalty/charge. No need for this shit.

Yeah they do this by me but as of now they just usually do it on holiday weekends (no refusal weekends). It wont be long until it is being used everyday. Makes it very hard to beat a DUI case and definitely makes you think twice about drinking and driving.

Why not just make the offence of refusing to blow a more serious offence than a drink driving charge? Then there would be no need to strap them down, headlock them and take blood at all. Refusal to do the blow would mean you are guilty as you wont prove that you could be innocent, then you get to face court and get dealt with. If you take the blow test and return a positive test then they proceed as normal with the charge/court anyway, so the only way to get out of it would be to blow and prove your innocence. Or something like that?

It's already a crime to refuse a roadside sobriety test; this is just insult to injury, seemingly for the sake of ensuring that the "guilty" suffer a little more.

Its not that hard to fucking blow into a straw.

The people who need to be strapped onto a table are usually the ones high as a kite, and are a menace to society. No sympathy here.

I've been strapped down and forcibly catheterized for not even refusing a piss test, but asking for a bottle of water and 30min to be able to go. So this really doesn't shock me.

I in no way support drunk drivers but the things we do to people are just insane. They could just make refusal a more serious charge like pole said, make it like automatic suspension of your liscense. Or make it like an automatic dui if you refuse, not like innocent until proven guilty means shit when it comes to drug related charges.

I'm pretty sure that's the case in AU. Refusal is basically an admission of guilt and you get the maximum penalty. Not entirely sure, but that seems a lot more humane.

I wonder who exactly in our "democracies" voted for police to forcibly remove your blood without consent?

What is the exact reason for the headlock? I could understand what the guy was saying, was he basically saying the put people compliant people in a headlock in case the freak out or go into some type of fit/seizure whilst the blood is being drawn? It just seems fucked up to me.

Just to have better control of the person. It is effed up. That state, Georgia, has some of the worse treatment of people in the US period.

Almost 10 years ago my husband was military and got stationed at a base in Georgia. The base was in a fairly small town and we were there for about 3 years. It was the worse place we ever lived by far. In that town, racial discrimination was also almost as rampant as it was in this country 40 years ago. I mean, they didn't still hang people (though the attitude was still there). The first week we were there and were ata realtor looking for a house to rent. We were given a list of homes that were available. After marking ones that we might be interested in due to size and price we approached the lady to inquire about seeing them. Sitting waiting in the room to speak to her next was a young, nicely dressed black military couple amd their children. They had been waiting awhile. Upon us asking about a particular home the lady that worked there said "oh you wouldn't want that one". It was a beautiful large home in the pic. I asked why. She kept implying because of where it was. Upon pushing her she finally said in a loud exaggerated whisper "because it is surrounded by people like them" nodding to the young couple waiting. It embarrassed that couple and us and pissed me off. My husband had to push me out the door. Needless to say sshe had made them wait so long for "one of their own" to help them and after those comments they left right behind us also.

I could also tell some outright cases of injustice with their legal system that to this day makes me so mad I want to cry..and they get away with it everyday. The judge it involved was not elected but appointed. I hesitate to tell the story only because it is so unbelievable that for prople who do not know me personally they would seriously believe I am just exagerrating!

Horrible place to live!
