Alright! Hello Bluelight! It's been quite some time since i've been about & i've yett to comb thru this new(er) Heroin thread.

Well i ditched the smack round here for about 3/4 months as the stuff was soooo bad you literally could shoot a 20 bag & not feel anything. Madness. Then when buying temazepam off my junkie friend in december he looks happy & has new contact, so i threw caution to the wind & did my first shot in months. I can only get £20's worth at a time but it's worth it. The H is a lighter shade of dark than before & although i shot the rest soon after 1/2 the bag gave me one of the best heroin rushes i'd ever had - big warm almost MDMA like rush. Hooray!

Paying for needles?

My local exchange does needles of various sizes/interchangeable pins, spoons, filters, sterile water amps, foil sheets, etc, etc all for free.

And most chemists supply free 'party packs' containing 10x1ml or 2ml syringes (fixed pins, usually poor build quality), alcohol swabs, small sin bin + citric acid and a penis jacket. Also, for free.

Never need pay for needles and such in this day and age.

Funny that, i found the opposite compared to methadone. Guess you've gotta take into account the simple fact that it means 1) you're not taking heroin any longer and 2) taking heroin will do the grand sum of sweet f a. Both things being quite conducive to making the world look less colourful.

Once in a blue moon when i do have a shot I just get a 'blue bag' form one of the many chemists that do them - x10 works,citric,swabs and condoms. The exchanges have a vast array of needle sizes. tournies etc etc etc

I've never been to a pharmacy that won't sell you needles in my life. Not all do swap-packs though (ie free ones with added sachets of citric/vit c, sterilising pads, stericups and so on). I live in the arse-end of nowhere and the pharmacist here sells needles if you ask. Plenty of non-junky uses for needles. The needle-exchane place is 20-odd miles away but they're happy to deliver a carrierbag load of swap-packs if you ask for 'em. They used to post 'em but apparently they're not allowed to anymore. Probably just policy for the particular place I'm at though cos you can certainly buy 'em online and have 'em delivered.

Dunno how old you are mate, but when I first started banging in the early 80's, you couldn't get pins for love nor money. Me & my mates tried the old scams of 'my mum's a diabetic' or 'I'm an anal retentive model maker and need syringes for mixing my paints' etc. but it really depended upon which pharmacist you saw. But obviously it never worked in the same place twice. That's why sharing works was so prevalent back then (and that's why we all got hepatitis!). Really, we've got AIDS to thank for the current situation of being able to get free works just about anywhere, but when AIDS first hit the headlines, there were more than a few of us shitting ourselves something rotten!)

IME, the syringe pack's in plastic bags have nevershare syringes, the pack's in brown paper bags have BD microfine.

nevershare syringes seem to get a bad rep as being low quality which i don't get, they have a thinner needle compared to BD microfine's, and the plunger is a lot more sturdy, plus they come in a load of schweet colours. and the needle is removable, it clicks off if you get the right spot.

Allright mate, chill the fuck out, I wasn't having a go at you, why are you taking this personally? I was just under the (clearly mistaken) impression that needle exchanges existed because you weren't allowed to buy insulin needles in the UK without being hassled in some way or other. Turns out I was wrong, well, that's a good thing. Not like I was trying to prove a point or anything.

Same as me mate - we use to go to a chemist on the fulham rd run by a sweet chinese woman and get a 2mg barral and 5 pins to stick on. Lemon juice was what we use to break up the gear....the Aids and needles were easy peasy. When I lived in Tenerife it was really hard and cos I was english all my spanish mates use to get me to buy them and say i was on holiday and needed them for insulin

Yes, I've resorted to lemon juice more than a few times in the past. Have you ever had your eyes checked out? Lemon juice can contain a fungus which attacks your optic nerves. I never thought twice about it, but as I'm a short sighted git, my last eye test showed a problem with my left eye. A subsequent hospital appointment showed I had (minor) damage to my optic nerve. However, this can also be caused by excessive drinking and smoking, as well as knocks to the head plus other things (as I drink and smoke to excess, have seriously OD'd, had a bad motorcycle acciedent, and many blows to the head, then I've no idea what caused it). The doc just said 'give up drinking & smoking' as this can progress to blindness in time. Fuck that... May be worth getting yerself checked out though matey...

FUBAR: Didn't start injecting til the 90s so things were much improved over the 80s as far as getting the necessaries without any hassle. I was also in a small town with a large population of addicts so all the pharmacies in town were used to it.

I Against I: I fukkin hate those Nevershare pins. Shoddy as fuck. Had several explode on me (pin coming off and flying across the room, push the plunger and the barrel pops, etc). Horrid things. Complained to my needle exchange and they switched to another brand.

Where I am the exchange provides either big bundles of Microfines (with citric/vit c, swabs, johnnies) that come in a sealed grey placcy bag, or brown paper swap-packs if you want 2ml or 5ml barrels with seperate tips (plus the usual gubbins). Other stuff is available on demand (stericups, micron filters (shitty quality ones though), tinfoil and so on).

Talking about problems with pins - my clinic gives out bundles of 10 1ml monojects tied together with a tight elastic band.

I found that often the barrels had become so distorted that many of them were no longer airtight. Pull back on the plunger and it would suck air in past the seal. In the worst cases, there was sometimes visible splits in the barrel because the elastic band was so fuckin' tight. I complained to the clinic on more than one occasion, but did they do anything about it? DID THEY FUCK! I think these clinic monkeys that give out the rigs should undergo a course showing how to bang up properly and the associated problems. Usually, they just don't give a fuck.

Those gadgets they give out for snapping the amps always used to amuse me as well. If you can't even snap the top off an amp without cutting yer thumb off, then you shouldn't really be injecting drugs..!

I gave up (which is unheard of for me: I've been at it more than 20 years) because I'd never known anything like it back in 2010. Mine was one of the first posts in the first few days of the drought in, I think, October 2010. God those were bad times! Couple of years clean has given me a new found appreciation for good gear though! Also didn't do any white in that time. I foresee a fucking disaster, but it's got to happen!

Yeah mate, I started this with a thread called 'Drought with nasty H' : http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/535073-drought-with-nasty-H in 2010. I never realised just how widespread the problem was at that time. and to be honest I don't think things are back to normal yet! OK, there may be some decent gear around again, but the prices seem to have been permanently inflated due to it. Actually, it's done me good because I've now come to my senses and (almost) stopped buying gear. So now I have the benefit of rose tinted specs where I can bang on about how good it was in the old days..

fair enough, i prefer them to the others mostly for the tiny gauge, haven't had any issue with them, fingers crossed.

Re lemon juice although what you say is true its extremely rare to get this condition - im 50(on the 2nd feb) and need reading glasses but have had very similar experiences as you in my life so who knows.

^ Whenever I've been forced to use lemon juice I find it seems to add to the rush. Sure that's just psychosomatic or summat though. Not recommended. Not half as rare as you may think for it to cause a nasty infection. Consider it more luck than judgement to avoid any such infection issues, I'd suggest.

Ya. They are nice and thin and sharp. But also by far the shonkiest pins I've ever come across. Main issue seems to be pulling up a solution that hasn't completely cooled. As long as you leave it til it's essentially stone cold you should be okay. I tend to be a tad impatient and don't like leaving it to cool too much cos I'm tight and you waste loads in residue. Problem could likely be fixed by judicious washing but I know I'm far from alone in wanting it in me quicksmart sometimes. Do be aware though, when they go bad they go very bad. You don't want a tip jetting into a vein at a gazillion miles per hour cos your syringe explodes on you I can assure you. Also bad for tips snapping off in the vein. Bad news all round imo, ime, etc, etc.

Ush i dunno, i've got a bunch of 30cc needles and they're so damn thin i cant even draw back on, barely able to fill up the damn thing without loads of effort, plus they bend like rubber im surprised one hasnt snapped off yet.. i've just gone back to using the brown ones, seem to have lost my thread with IVing though trying to change the size pin i was used to, and barrels etc, which i dont know why it makes a difference but it sure feels like it does to me, so i'm giving that a break rather than unnecessarily fucking up veins, gear is shit as ever here, maybe could be worse at least its cheap but it infuriates me that i know several people round here have dynamite stuff, i just deleted all methods of getting in contact /sleep depreived rant

Morning y'all , used vit c instead of citric for the first time last night too, felt slightly less rough which is always a plus, is there any cons to using vit c over citric?

^^ no cons only plusses as ait c is far more soothing and less damaging than citric.

BTW have found the perfect foil - from lidl its 2 quid but you get 30m and its the perfect density imo.

Yeah but when the amp contains your daily script it's best to be on the safe side.

Back in the old days when financing was a problem for exchanges the quality of some of the pins was shocking . The B.D Microfine were always decent and they came in their own wrapper which you could use to put water in which was a bonus .
Some of the other pins were terrible quality , i heard a rumour that some of them were the ones that hadn't passed Quality Control . A rumour as i said but given the quality something that can't be ruled out .
I still have the end of one of those shite pins in my arm to this day .

Ha! *30 gauge, thought they'd be better but smallest that i can physically use are them brown 25 or 26g i think? tried jacking oramorph with a 10cc rig which looked ridculous though haha, that foil from exchangesupplies is too think i reckon i concur on the lidl brand or just the one from my local shop works like a dream! All gone now and im freezing though

edit: probably better off asking in here, am i alright to use the 5/8'' needles for IM injection in the thigh? Have done in the past and was more comfortable than the 1inch ones
