is it possible to get as intense euphoria, naturally as opposed to drug use? i know when you work-out and when you orgasm dopamine(may be wrong) gets released into the brain and can be euphoric, but after having sex and working out, i wouldnt really call that euphoria imo. Like, i remember the first time i shot up heroin that was the best i have ever felt in my whole entire life, and im just wondering if its possible to feel THAT GOOD without having to use drugs?

Sorry if im rambling, i started thinking about this earlier and am really interested if it can actually be achieved, so i figured i would post here to see if anyone else has any input on the topic.

i've been interested in meditation for awhile, but i dont know anybody that meditates that could instruct me. ive tried meditating before but i dont think i was doing it properly. i just kinda sat there focused on my breathing for like 10 mins before i said to hell with it.

obv im not doing this to get HIGH, i just cant seem to find any form of happiness, well-being, calmness etc unless im high, and im really concerned that when i finally do stop using im gonna be just as miserable as i am using.

Sometimes, on very rare occasion, my dreams are so divine they induce euphoria. Also sometimes after yoga. Maybe out of the blue sometimes, but not long lasting.

I do get euphoria after a good work out. Forgot that one.

If you work out really hard you can get a nice rush.

Alex- nice :) I want euphoric dreams lol

BASE Jumping ?....but to be serious as a great man once said "Anything that can be done chemically can be done by other means."

I have tried a little meditation but I think you really will need to join a group with an experienced teacher to get the best from it.

I've decided to take up Tai Chi and went to meet with the teacher last week, I'm not really looking for a high in anyway, I'm more interested in connecting with myself and finding some inner calm and mental disciplines.

you have the internet right there in front of you id you want to do mediation just type in your area and "meditation classes" and there you go, oddly theses things seem to some and find you, the Tai Chi classes where being advertised somewhere where I had to pick up my daughter and I have been looking into to it for some time. Equally the classes were on the net.

I believe what you and we all really seek is enlightenment another beautiful quote I just found:-

One thing: you have to walk, and create the way by your walking; you will not find a ready-made path. It is not so cheap, to reach to the ultimate realization of truth. You will have to create the path by walking yourself; the path is not ready-made, lying there and waiting for you. It is just like the sky: the birds fly, but they don't leave any footprints. You cannot follow them; there are no footprints left behind.”

Start looking and you will start making that path, don't concentrate on euphoria, that is nothing more than a distraction, I believe once you start to find some inner peace (enlightenment if you like) your path becomes clearer or at least you walk it without having to look for it, but it is you that has to start, stop being a "(recovering)drug addict" today, just don't be one anymore. You are you and a perfect, the only example of you, unique in everyway and beautiful in every way.

I'm a long way from any of the things I have said you can't write or read yourself to enlightenment IMO but make a start in whatever way you feel is best and move on forward from that point.

I'll stop ow its early and I'm rambling;)

I dont get euphoria from sex..........it feels good but its nothing like a euphoria high ime...........

When I was in my teens, after playing basketball or any sports, I would get this feeling of well being & calmness.......I still get it once in a while when everything in my life is going great.

try entering a half marathon. (21.1km run) (it will give it'll give ya endorphins similar to morphine)
falling in love is natural with both serotonin & dopamine
sex release endorphins.
& eating well should release dopamine. eating healthier is even better.
being regular also makes ya feel good
winning things or being successful at something releases dopamine after all it is ya reward neurotransmitter
than, theres also extreme sports like sky diving which release adrenalin
sleeping well also helps. a good 9 hour sleep without waking up.
fiber is the most important thing in ya diet. take a multivitamin. take fish oil which is suppose to lower stress. & take milk thistle which is a strong antioxidant & helps repair ya liver. good for anyone in general & especially good for ppl who drink alcohol or take other drugs.
hydrolyte the otc supplement is great for dehydration. it makes ya feel good in general & is especially good after drinking or taking drugs like meth & mdma which cause dehydration
green tea is good for its antioxidant effects but i need to make it really strong. they have supplements with 7 tea bags worth of green tea so u cant have to much but make sure its decaf.
tea is better than coffee. coffee only contains caffine . tea also contains Theobromine which is a claiming stimulant.
small amounts off caffine can be helpful for ya health. so can aspirin.

for those athletes who get gold in the Olympic games & such would have a great natural high.

making achievements give ya natural high. it's not good advice but winning at gambling gives ya a natural high too. like when ya win on the pokies

I get a straight up body-buzz as if I was on an opiate/MDMA combo while I'm meditating w/ a reiki master working their magic. I swear, it's amazing. I even slept perfect that night and was in mild benzo WD.

Just passively watching your breathing won't do it. Breathing has to be actively, rythmically controlled by intention to promote changes in Oxygen and CO2 levels in the blood for instance. Have a look at pranayama, or the four-fold breath technique of the Golden Dawn for exercises that will demonstrate the striking effects produceable through breath control, some relaxed and grounding, some stimulating and energetic.
