Brexit, should we stay or should we go?

Apologies for that, shm.
My only regret is losing all the great content some people posted there.
But its filled up with seppos who heard about "brexit" on fox, and trolls.
Tis just a mouseclick to bring it all back though.

No apology needed for me man. As stated. Rules of BL are thread starter = thread owner. Right or wrong, those are the rules. And I know I've exploited them myself.

No I didn't.

See I'd have liked to have read that post SHM.

However, the powers at be here might think I'm of a delicate persuasion and not able to cope with the scary comments..

As we chat here about democracy, we see in real time BL personality politics and misappropriated power in action eh :\

What a fucking joke.
Is that directed at me?
Anyone can 'disappear' a thread they start and the contents within - if they started the thread (which i did).
I'm not against re-instating it; convincing arguments why would help.

What does everyone make of this petition to have another referendum?

Personally I think it's absolute bullshit, he had a vote, the majority voted out so deal with it!! If it was the other way around we wouldn't be seeing a petition... Already like 77,000 false names on it apparently 8)

If you believe in a cause and want to do what you can to make change happen, without hurting anyone, that is your right.

Nothing would ever change if we just 'dealt with it'

You can't sit at the front of the bus, deal with it.
You can't marry that man, deal with it.

Having said that, it was mentioned in PMQs today and it was made clear that the results of the referendum are final as far as they are concerned.

indeed. this is nothing to do with the man keeping the kids down or bluelight staff on a power trip.

thread starters have always been free to delete their own threads (i.e. threads they have started) whether they're greenlighters, bluelighters, mods. smods or admins. no issue there.

in cases where forum staff feel that the deletion of the thread will take with it too much other content, the s.o.p. is to undelete the thread, edit the first post to a blank message and unapprove other posts in the thread by the op.

I live in a rural area and it is obvious that yes a large percentage of immigrants work hard, but to be salad picking for £2.50 an hour means local people CANNOT afford to take the jobs because they have families here to take care of.

I too live in a (very) rural area. If I was aware of any local business employing anybody for below the legal minimum wage I would be reporting them because not only is it completely illegal it is also highly immoral. I'm not sure you have seen this if my own experience of picking & packing veg - via a temp agency no less - is anything to go by though. Myself and my then girlfriend were employed for ~£7/ph doing precisely that work. And that was went to us after whatever fee the agency charged on top of that. This was, incidentally, also before the minimum wage came in and every single other emplyee was an EU migrant. Why would that be? Cos it's bastard hard work and bastard long hours so not many people like doing it. Also, incidentally, why it paid pretty well at the time. Maybe I should be complaining that other migrants may (or may not) have conceivably come over here to work legally in a job me & the mrs me lasted barely a day on because it really is very hard work and there were better options available to us (ie less physically hard, similar wages).

In unrelated news...

Highlights include the frankly brilliant slogan "Up yours, darling!" the FACT! that "We did the rest of the world a favour" and some truly quality comedy regional accents used to portray the grubby reality of the bankster world. Bizarrely enough, he actually makes the odd decent point. Admittedly for completely the wrong reasons. Probably best summed up by the realisation that all that muffed shouting, random cackling and occasional loud grunting was down to your new upstairs neighbour settling in to watch the referendum results...

And in somewhat related news...

Works just as well pre- and post-referendum :D

Hehe, I watched that David Icke video when he released it. I don't follow him, or buy into his claptrappery, but he is a guilty pleasure of mine :o

I'm more worried about what he's doing with that hand in his pocket...

So, koneko - if you want to read the thread i started on this in ce&p, it's open again (for the time being).

A lot of great posts in this thread.

I never had time to look into the specifics to make an informed choice, but you only had to look at the voters and read the papers to know where your vote should be

Which lot would you rather trust!?

The referendum was always a stupid decision. MP's - love 'em or hate 'em - it's their job to look into the specifics and make an informed choice. unlike Joe public, whom the majority have an irrational paranoia about levels of immigration, and let only that dictate their vote.

Never felt so ashamed to be English. We suck at football also.

Seriously considering emigration. If I'm still allowed.

Yeah I understand the point about if you believe in something stand up for it, but the majority voted out so that's that, it's like playing pool with someone and the loser going... Best of 3?

And SHM, I never knew it was started by a leave campaigner, bet he feels like a right wally now and should be ashamed of himself, you can't re do an election because you lost or (think you're going to lose) it defeats the object of voting then.

I won't pretend to know anything about it because I don't, it all goes over my head a bit really, not that I'm thick it's just politics etc, like I don't get what weakens the pound and why shares fall in price? There were pros and cons for both remain and leave just like with any kind of voting but what's been done has been done and I think instead of people being divided and half pissed off that we've left and being negetive because let's face it we can't change the past only the future. So instead should just try get behind the country now and support it rather than be negetive and stubborn that we've left, need to work as a "team" if you will to get through the initial slump we're likely to see, but be reet soon I'm sure once we've stabilised.

Yeah let's stick it to the Germans, the slump will be over by Christmas.

Think we've been sold that lie before.

There are no pros to leaving.

Our options now are either shit trade deals that will leave us unable to export our financial services and will make our goods so uncompetitive nobody will want them or access to the single market in exchange for freedom of movement.

So at least 10 years of recession to achieve what ? Keeping Cameron in a job for one more year.

A job he quit despite reassuring people he would stay whatever the result was.

The far right now feel legitimised so the only people likely to benefit from this are UKIP and people that make flags and knuckle dusters.

Think i'll be staying negative for a little bit longer.

The simplist solution is call a snap election.

Except there are no parties left to actually govern.

Well done democracy, time for the monarchy to step up and rule again.
