0.25mg used to be good.
Now, after about a week of almost daily 0.5-1mg use, it feel like nothing.
0.5... nothing.. + 0.5mg... meh.. + 0.5mg.. okay there's something.
So 1.5mg it took.
Well. Shoot.
Anyway, when do the withdrawals start? It's been 7-8 days.
I have extensive use / experience with Etizolam and its dechlorinated analog (Deschloroetizolam)….in addition to every other pharmaceutical benzodiazepine and RC Benzo alike
Etizolam, being a Theinotriazolodiazepine (a benzodiazepine analog) is most active at the a2/a3 subunit receptors- mainly anxiolytic & antidepressant properties (slightly similar to Alprazolam (Xanax) due to its Triazolo ring
Etizolam apparently has a reduced liability to cause dependence compared to Lorazepam (Wiki) …I have read several medical journal studies that compared Etizolam in controlled studies alone, and against classic benzodiazepine drugs such as Lorazepam & Diazepam, in addition to Alprazolam
Etizolam synthesized in Japan is a very effective anxiolytic. Rapid acting, relatively short half life and duration of action, with rapid clearance. Definitely has one of the best safety profiles as a benzodiazepine type anxiolytic. Essential a benzodiazepine as its MOA is identical to Xanax, Valium, Ativan, etc
Your usage is totally normal and would be classified as “low therapeutic doses” and not a long time using Etizolam. You could reduce dose during the last 1-2 weeks of a taper like 0.25mg in morning, 5pm ish, and an hour prior to bed…the just a 0.25 in morning and night. You would feel minimal discomfort (if any) at your usage level
You COULD go to your doc, or a walk-in clinic and tell them you were using a benzodiazepine and have stopped, and request a short supply of medications to aid in your cessation
Clonidine 0.1mg tablets. Scored tablets, even half a tablet is effective at reducing withdrawal symptoms from every known addictive drug. A robust potent rapid acting anxiolytic & mild sedative …reducing BP and norepinephrine in the CNS, rapid 30min onset reducing restlessness, anxiety, sweating, mental & physical destress, cardiovascular system calming properties. Amazing anxiolytic & sedative. Non addictive and any doc will prescribe 10 tablets for the 1-2 weeks after benzo cessation if needed. I STILL use Clonidine 0.1mg tablets to this day (as needed) as a potent rapid acting, non-benzodiazepine anxiolytic & sedative.
Gabapentin 100mg X 3 daily - off label anxiolytic (Gabapentin & Pregabalin (Lyrica) are often used when tapering off benzodiazepine / opioids / dopaminergic stimulants, etc ….doc might deny request, but could very easily give you a script for a low dose Gabapentin 100mg X 3 daily for 5 days (as needed) especially prior to bedtime - sleep disturbances caused by benzo withdrawal
In a nut shell….your low dose, short duration of Etizolam isn’t THAT much of a serious issue.
If anything, very mild to minimal mental distress / slight anxiety or anxiousness/restlessness due to no more Etizolam but would be a few days if anything. Low dose Clonidine or Gabapentin would be ideal IF you experienced any distress …again, nothing more than a week of super low dose comfort meds to relieve any discomfort
….You should be perfectly fine
