unusual etizolam tolerance/hunt for downer RCs

ive been on etizolam steadily for over six months (mostly IV, up to 140mgs a day) as well as suboxone and about 100mg seroquel at night. suddenly a few weeks ago I had to cold turkey from the etiz and subs.of course the lack of fine motor skills, tremors, extreme weakness, dehydration, loss of appetite and muscle spasms came on in addition to the familiar buprenorphine withdrawals. I was finally able to get more subs but the benzo w/d's continued slightly muted. I reobtained the etizolam and lo and behold no effects aside from the cessation of benzo detox. not even at high doses (upwards of 60mg IV) could I feel much of an effect.

my question here is if anyone can explain why an extended period without etiz would cause what I guess would be termed tolerance when the tolerance should have raised its ugly head during the months of steady use. usually when you return to a drug the effects are more prominent.
this also leads to the question of current RCs that arent for speed or rolling, downers basically. ive just returned to the scene after a break since 2011 and cant seem to find anything along these lines in days of research so if you could try and answer any of these Q's or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful and you would earn who knows how much karma. thanks,
bigs
