O.K first I'm a Newbie so apologies for posting in the wrong place or not using the search engine (I did by the way)
Briefly around 8 years ago I got into heroin in a big way, over the course of two/Three years I developed a major habit around £700 a week that's roughly$1000,
anyways went cold turkey and quit stayed clean for the last 5 years how ever slipped back into it recently done another cluck and then started again just been 7 days clean and am really struggling to sleep so been taking Etizolam, I know its not a true Benzo but has benzo properties would hate to swap one addiction for another just wondering how long I can use this without becoming dependent, already done 100 mg over the last week could it be time to stop? I can handle the aches pains shits runny nose sneezing shivers etc... but the insomnia drives me mad thanks for any advice.

It's going to depend on your previous benzo usage/addictions. The more benzos you used in the past, the quicker and worse you will become addicted to etizolam.

I can say that for me, 100mg in one week is enough to put in a severely bad state of addiction. I would stop now if I were you and look for help from friends, family, etc.

Have you ever been addicted to benzos before? Etizolam is not forgiving in the least. It's just as difficult of an addiction as heroin.

I got the shakes after taking 2mg for 4 weeks and abruptly stopping, but everyone is different with regards to metabolism, tolerance, etc.

This only lasted a few days and, along with insomnia, was really the only facet of my withdrawal (no panic attacks, palpitations, extreme anxiety, or anything one may expect). I would still not ever want to get to that point again as the intensity of the shaking was rather intense. I was lucky I hadn't been using for very long.

Be careful messing around with the stuff.

i would imagine that silmilar to classic benzos, after one month of strong therapeutic doseages, you will start getting insomnia and rebound anxiety when you quit, but it shoultd pass quick, the longer you're on them the more difficult and longer the withdrawal will be

Hi guys thanks for the replies, sorry I haven't responded sooner.
Sad to say I only lasted about a week clean before the PAWS got to me and I ended up going back to heroin, on the plus side I decided I could do without an addiction to Etizolam as well and decided to flush what I had left, just smoked my last bag of H and am going to give it another go at getting clean, so fingers crossed aye.

Welcome to BL!
@Clucking, everyone is different. I get addicted very easily but in regards to benzo, it may happen sooner than you think.
At your pace, right now you won´t get physically hooked, but hard psychologically addiction comes after a couple of months IME.
You if you manage to get clean from heroin, be careful. You know what addiction can do to you. You are a winner if you stopped dope.
Relapses normally starts in mysterious ways IMO. I would quit as soon as possible.
Wish you good luck:\
EDIT: when I was writing this I had not seen the outcome, but it´s pretty much expected. Do quit while you still can.

Thanks Erikmen, yeah I'm giving it another go now, totally different approach this time round, I have no Heroin on standby and have given all my debit, credit cards ans phone sim card to a relative, I do have some buprenorphine, at hand in case an emergency arises and I need to function normally so hopefully this time around everything goes better.

other users seems spot on. But really man, if you don't want to exchange one addiction for another, thats a lifestyle choice. It's not easy, but you've got support. Etizolam (and its benzo cousins) can sometimes even be worse than heroin, if you go driving around town completely blacked out etc. A friend of mine tried to punch a cop, got his ass WHOOPED and spent the night in jail. Doesn't remember a thing.

Try to complete 100% of GTAV. That will take your mind off things. In all seriousness but of luck, addiction is hell but you'll make the right choice, whatever it ends up being.
