Hi, everyone...
I'm in an exceptional mood: I've introduced some good friends to the scene, and they've taken to it like a fish to water... and all of them feel they've gained so much in the process!!!! As such, I wanted to post some musings I have had about music, what it means to me... and maybe what it means to you.
I've been involved in music my whole life: classically trained in piano and voice, constant concerts and recitals. Later, partying and DJing, hopefully, producing and mastering (someday). I've come to realize something fundemental for all of us, regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation or geographic location. Music is THE most primal, passionate, powerful and unavoidable force in the world. It shapes who we are, what we wear, who we associate with, our lifestyle, our friendships, our loves and hates. It defines how we are perceived by others - and our reaction to this scrutiny - and influences our verbage, our social development and - quite often - guides our feet firmly upon the path of our individual lives.
I love music, all kinds, though none bless me with the spiritual and religious experience as the thundering bass, the building tempo of a dirty dance beat. I truly feel alive, and in my element: my breath comes shorter, my troubles seem distant and minimal... all is lost on the cresting tide of an incredible wave of pleasure and expectation. Pharmaceutically high or not, it doesn't matter: at that precise moment, I'm just high on life.
Just some ramblings I had on the subject: like I said, I'm in a great mood... feel free to email me and respond: I'll always answer back.
Party safely, and always remember: the friendships you form amidst the looping swirls of a rhythmic bongo beat may not prove to last as long as anyone's expectations.... never take your friends for granted...
