hello all- well i dont know anything about this stuff really, other than im fairly sure its an antihistamine. is that right?

well i just noticed that my lecithin supplements contain 350mg each of it. and i take two each day. so is 700mg of MEA (i assume) anything to worry about?
i havnt noticed any sedating effects typical of diphen type antihistamines.

Ethanolamine stinks and is not nice stuff. It's very toxic and will poison you. Read more carefully...

huh, i wonder why they put it in with my cholin/inositol supplement. so would one think 700mg a day is to much? its whats in the recommended dosage.

google is your friend.....
ethanolamine in supplements is usually in the form of a metal ethanolamine salt and is mostly harmless. the ethanolamine supposedly increases absorbtion of the metal. for example calcium ethanolamine phosphate is a source of calcium and phosphorus as phosphate. it is also used with magnesium and iron

as Haribo pedantically pointed out

Freebase ethanolamine is somewhat toxic corrosive and stinky, and prone to decomposition.

Some people have it as the preferred antidote for Dimethyl sulphate and methyl triflate skin contact, as it is not as evil as ammonia. It has a much lower vapour pressure than ammonia, and it is difficult to imagine how enough vapour could be inhaled to cause a problem.
