Estazolam or flurazepam. Which is better?

I'm currently on Temazepam.
I have the choice of estazolam or flurazepam or staying on Temazepam. I know that estazolam is a triazolo benzodiazepine. Do earthier of these top Temazepam?

Ive taken both. Estazolam only a few times, Dalmane a bit more. Neither were anything special to me but temazepam isnt either. Is temazepam not working?
 
It is..., but my pharmacist said something about over saturation of the sub units where this drug is active. I do take 30mg of Valium/day. My theory is Temazepam, being a metabolite of diazepam, may be giving me diminished effects, due to the fact that I take the parent drug.

Now, about the fact that estazolam is a triazolo benzodiazepine, I am assuming it is related to triazolam and therefor,it might be better? I was in the hospital with a pulminary embolism and they didn't have my normal med. This is just for example purposes. They gave me Ambien. I have not taken Ambien in at least four months. It knocked me out. I am not going back on Z drugs, only benzos. I learned with the benzodiazepines, that simply rotating them at a dose that is close to equal of of the other benzodiazepine, works very well.

My doctor said I can pick any one I want(that insurance covers anyway). Now, flurazepam has a longer half life. I don't care because I take benzodiazepines all the time. I figure, at worst, it would add to the Valium I take. My doctor easily gives me a script with three refills, but if I want to try this or that, she will write a one month script.
My bottom line is Temazepam is "fine"( I don't know how HR this is, but when combined with a cns depressing medicine, the medication, even diphenhydramine, kmtfo), but maybe a different one would subjectively "feel" better or stronger, just because it's new to me. With pharmacutical benzodiazepines, at a certain point, a part of them, seem to be the same. I could possily just raise my Diazepiam dosage up, to where I'm just tired from even taking so much, or say throw a decent dosage of Ativan/Loeazepam on at night to fall asleep.
I don't know if she would go for it, or if it is safe(clarification needed), but I used to get promethazine and there were many times where I would take doses up to 20mg and just all the sudden wake up with all my lights on and tv on. I have no idea how promethazine did that.

I know many questions were asked, but that's basically it.

Estazolam doesnt have the short half-life of triazolam though. Im not sure that saturation of subunits is either true or relevant if so but they all may have slight variations on where they bind. Would have to look to be sure. I agree, you take enough, they all feel the same and long half life doesnt mean long duration with less than chronic use (i.e. diazepam, methadone).

Estazolam and Flurazepam are 2 of the best Hypnotic Benzos I've used and enjoyed. Along with Temazepam. So it's a hard choice.. 3 excellent Benzos there.. Flurazepam has a nice long half life. :) Which some enjoy, some don't.

To my suprise Hydroxyzine has helped sedate very slightly on a couple of occasions. Yet nothing comparative to any Benzo. Although Promethazine, Diphenydramine had no sedative/anti anxiolytic on me at all.
 
I'm going to try Flurazepam , next doctor visit. It sounds like a solid medication. Now if doc will do it with a raise in diazepam is the question.
 
I quite liked Temazepam (biting open the soft gelcaps, the inner liquid heated up in my mouth a lot, fun times :D) sad for you to have to switch (the reason for which i don't quite get).

Out of the alternatives i preferred the flurazepam, but it had the side effect of giving me a horrible bitter metallic taste on my tongue (not from tasting the pill itself, it started 1/2 hour after ingestion and lasted for the better half of two days). not quite as bad as zopiclone, but for a lot longer time.
Don't know if everyone gets that taste, but i didn't ask my doc for them a second time
