Hello, i have lurked this forum for a very long time and just recently created an account. So i cant even buy booze yet, but i do have 2 annoying ass addictions, but one of the two i dont rlly like all that much( amphs) which ive been addicted too since i was like 8 years old on dexedrine, which has lead too smoking amphs. which sucks balls. and is never any fun.

BUT! i love opiates like... alot.... haha, been snorting/smoking strong opiates for a couple years now. ocs were my thing. until those stupid fucking ops came around, they piss me off, lots. but within the last couple months they completely disapeered.

Then, something i liked even more started coming around. the big yellow stopsigns(if you dont know what im talking about, well i feel sorry for you). Because they fucking rock. But are ridicoulously expensive where im from. But the thing im worried about, is ever since ive started insuffalating those regularly, my tolerance for any opiate including those has been seeming too rapidly rise, like for example around 60 mgs of oxy always did the trick... never failed..

When i discovered opana 40s, i started with 5 mg and that got me nodding pretty hard like majority of the day,( i was flabbergasted) but literally within a week that 5 turned into 20 minimum, and now i cant get those nods i like so much from like anything, So what my junky ass brain has been thinking is. Hey. IVIVIVIVIVIVIVIVIVIVIVIVIV.

Because ive seen people nod hard on morph doing it that way, and in my opinion, morph is super weak. and takes at least 120 too feel anything at all.. But no one wants too show me how. like specifically step by step, because they say im too young and my habits already way out of control... and apparently it would "wreck my life very quickly". but reallly i dont think so. and ive got a big yellow stopsign, and a couple of those morp abg 100s. and all the tools neccasary for IV but im honestly really scared of needles in general for some reason...

I think i could get over pretty much any fear if its gonna get me like 10x higher. so ya. im stumped what should i do bluelighters, try it that way or just stick too snorting/smoking/ plls? i have no idea what i should do. and i would appreciate some experienced input.8o8o8o:|:(

Don't expect an instant response, these things take time.

It's also quite hard to read your post because its one huge block of text...

thanks for pointing that out man. im new too the whole posting on a forum thing... ive always just lurked in the past... but i will revise and make it easier too read...:\

^No problem man :)

It sounds like you're getting deeper and deeper into an opiate habit. The choice to switch to IV is not something to be taken lightly, and while Bluelight does exist as a harm-reduction site, it is even better harm reduction to not take the plunge into IVing things if you can avoid it. Look around the forums, there are many threads about people getting hooked on the process of IVing in addition to the drugs they're IVing.

I've been using/addicted to opiates for the past five or so years and I've never IVed them except in a hospital/medical setting (and I wasn't the one doing the IVing, it was a medical professional). I've stuck to popping pills and then moved onto snorting them (not the ones with APAP in them of course, but that doesn't seem to apply to you). I also use a lot of potentiators with my opiates. I'm using Suboxone now and I snort or sublingually administer it.

I can understand where you're coming from, you want to get the most from your opiates and opiates are expensive. IV is indeed the most efficient route of administration but it is also the most dangerous. That is something you must understand. If you do indeed start IVing, please follow HR procedures (using clean injection equipment, micron filtering pills, etc).

Here are some threads worthy of reading, I'm not an expert in the needle, as I've never IVed, but these should get you started:

YEAH IV but don't try opana er IV cause it will gel up and won't work and even if you can get it in a rig you can kill your self putting gel into your vein

^ There are ways to IV the Opana ER, but it's a pain in the ass. OP you said that you're thinking of IV as a new ROA? You do realize that you're flying down a slippery slope at Mach-5 right? You are apparently a teenager (a guess since you said you can't buy booze yet), I am not trying to tell you what to do, espically since I was IV'ing heroin at 18, but I will tell you that the route you are on is eventually going to come to a dead stop.

The dead stop I am talking about is 1 of 3 things:

1: Jail
2: Rehab
3: Death

I suggest that you perhaps find a way to balance your drug use so that it doesn't take over your life. I am not saying that you should stop completely, but you should really think about the impact of IV drug use on your life, the IV ROA will not get you "10x higher" as you said, take it from me, all it does is hit you quicker and give you a rush.

I think i could get over pretty much any fear if its gonna get me like 10x higher. so ya. im stumped what should i do bluelighters, try it that way or just stick too snorting/smoking/ plls? i have no idea what i should do. and i would appreciate some experienced input.

Stick to snorting pills, don't smoke them because it's extremely toxic. What I suggest you start doing if you want to get higher off the pills is plugging them. Plugging means creating a solution and putting it up your ass. It's a hell of a lot safer than shooting pills, which even if you did you should invest in micron filters which I am sure several people would suggest you to do, plus plugging leaves no marks, no risk of abscesses, no risk of your fucking arm getting hacked off and the like.

So in conclusion, my suggestion is: Get an oral syringe, a bottle of K-Y, and get freaky baby =D

When I started to use needles a long time ago (was Hydromorphone 2mg I think) I remember thinking something like: that was pretty nice, not 10x better, maybe 3x, I bet if I got the dose just right (meaning more) it would be pure heaven. It really was the best rush of my life but since it only lasts so long, you're still left feeling unsatisfied. Thats how the shit gets you. I'm convinced that while the rush feels nice for a few seconds, it will never, ever feel satisfying because even as you are experiencing it, it is almost over.

I stopped using needles several months ago after finally getting fed up with the idea of inserting unknown cuts and fillers into my bloodstream. Well actually I think it was more that my tolerance skyrocketed after using too much fent and I couldn't afford to get high anymore but I consider myself very lucky since I have friends who ended up in jail/dead w/in a year of picking up the needle.

If you do it try to be safe and sensible, I'd really recommend that in addition to having someone knowedgeable show you how to inject, thoroughly research it youself.

Mostly try to remember where you came from and the kind of person you really want to be. That has been very helpful to me in my struggle with opiates but when I was your age (under 21) I did not give half a shit about those things.

This road you are going down will ruin your life. As stupid as it sounds, from the outside looking in, there is something faintly romantic about the idea of being a dope addict. I know its fun but I promise, it will take EVERYTHING you love from you. It is NOT worth it. It is NOT cool. It's the bane of my existence, and I wish I could remove needles from my life every single day. Please go get help now before its too late!

Theres a trade off with being a dope addict. You gotta weigh the pro & cons before entering the game. If you're someone that lives with a great family, roof over your head, 3 meals a day & clothing on your back & school/work is going fine, dont screw it up with dope because everything I stated & thats if you're in that situation, then those are all pros.......

The con would be you were abused when younger& had bad parental upbringing & everything else crazy & demented that could that could have happened to you & you are using drugs to escape the harsh realities of where & what you've been threw compared to those kids from suburbia that had the world handed to them.

Bottom line is its your choice if you wanna use drugs but please stay away from the needle. People get high all day, every day w/o using needles & so can you! I understand why the kid from the wrong tracks would do drugs to forget his problems but the other guy who is experimenting is in for a rude awakening.

You know I started using IV because I thought it would be more cost effective. Wrong! that holds true for about maybe week and then you're tolerance soars! Where when you first started you could bang half a bag and feel great, next week you'll be putting 2 bags into the syringe and on and on till you cant afford your habit anymore.

And then like Mora Fiend said: Rehab, Jail, Death.

It doesnt take long. I've done rehab and jail more than I would like, more than any one would like. It sucks.

Just something to think about if you havent already made up your mind.

You will do your first shot and be like meh that wasn't that good, sure it was fast onset then as an above poster said you will try again thinking you need a higher dose and then again once you hit that third time your in and once you pop you can't stop

Well at least thats how it was for me and every other shooter i know. I started last year and it was a slippery slope ended up diong half a G every second day in 6 months. You will escelate and it is not worth it, there is always "one more time" and you look for excuses on why that "last time" wasn't good enough.

Ive been taking lortab for pain for a while. I ran out and had a friend get me an opana (yellow stop sign) which i snorted over the corse of a few daus till i got my lortab script. That one opana took me from getting a warm pleasant feeling from one lortab 10 to feeling nothing but extremely drowsy after two hours on 3 lortab. Opana destroys tolorance fast. You dont want to be an opiate addict. Its fun when you can get a buzz but really sucks when all they do is make you feel normal and you have to take them first thing in the morning to make your eyes stop watering and your body able to move.

Welcome to BL!

This thread has gotten some attention since it was first published, and I think I would like to contribute, as I was in your very position some months back, and had to make a decision as to whether or not to start IV'ing... I also like the title, it suits the topic well. Anyways, I sort of went the other way 'round... I started using the needle after going into buprenorphine treatment for my heroin addiction. Which on a dark and gloomy day after abusing my treatment had me chasing a ghost from my past, and I shot some heroin. Wow! 8o How electric/fantastic/intense/etc. that was! WHAT A FUCKING RUSH! %) Good thing I shot up before completely closing the heroin chapter, because I couldn't have gone all those years as a heroin addict and not have shot up. 8) No way, had to be done! :p

I mean some of the above ironically, but a lot of it holds true to the mindset of an opiate addict. It also took me the sad side of a few hundred bucks to finally get that rush, a couple of failed attempts later, and it also burnt like a bitch while shooting compared to shooting a buprenorphine solution (for one, the acidity of the shot, but also who knows what was mixed in that heroin, I have likely shot up some real nasty shit into my veins), and really, if I hadn't been in treatment now, and IV'ed heroin some years back, I don't even want to imagine where I would be now.

I am thankful that I have buprenorphine both as a stepping stone into the IV world of drugs and harm reduction techniques thereof, but also for it's ability to treat my addiction to opiates; buprenorphine has a way of putting things into perspective, even though it is an opioid as well, and a bloody potent one at that. The reason I know this, is because I haven't wanted to shoot heroin ever since I experienced the rush at it's best, because I know it won't get any better next time, it will just be another time, and another time after that. At least the experience hasn't planted that IV opiate hook in me, yet. And after experiencing buprenorphine wd's, I am reluctant to use the needle even for that, as 1) I know it will just lead to even worse wd's, as I won't be able to lower my dose as much as I would if I just took the tablets sublingually and settled for the lower bio-availability, and 2) I will likely cause more damage than my body will be able to repair, before the show is over... All this said, I don't want to sound like some holy angel, who is in control, because with opiates, you never fucking know... One day you think you've got it, and the next day it's got you, and back and forth and so on... Although I chose to start IV'ing, there are a lot of things down that road that I cannot foresee, as is there with any choice one makes.

On the contrary, there are so many ways to increase the effect of a drug, without having to use needles. As others recommended, check out available potentiators and the likes... The best way, however, to get the most out of any drug, is to not do it at all for the most part if one can abstain for prolonged periods of time, and then those few times once in a fucking while, will be so intense that you'll never ever forget them... as opposed to all those intense rush's you might get that will be forgotten in a haze of hundreds-thousands of other rushes that you might have gotten and half-forgotten...

Just know this: You choose. And by making the choice to start using a needle, you are attempting to create a mind-over-matter situation, in which the opiates might very soon have you convinced that your body doesn't matter. You would be amazed at how quick one can tear ones body apart and ruin it in so many ways, due to the way a certain drug works... Smoking cigarettes is a general example - detrimental to health and well-being, yet so many, including myself, still inhale a lot of smoke every day, just because the nicotine does what it does... All that harm could be avoided, if pure nicotine was induced in another manner, less harmful...
So nictoine inhalers : plugged heroin, as smoking cigs : shooting heroin... You're putting all those unnecessary things in places they should not be (e.g. mixers in heroin and pills going directly into your blood-stream, are much like all the unnecessary carcinogens of tobacco smoke going into your lungs). Whether you take all precautions necessary, you cannot avoid all things detrimental to your physical or psychological health in the long run, so better to just to steer clear where you can, and only hit those potholes that you really can't avoid.

Stay safe, and make sure that the decision is made in a conscious state, where you are not mind-over-matter, and make sure that you remember to listen to what your body tells you that is right, and make that choice as wise as it can be and as pure as it can be.

Do not make the choice to IV while you are in wd's, in some attempt to magically increase the potency of the drug... The drug remains the same, and many IV users would die to live another day before they started IV'ing... Make sure you are at peace with yourself when you make the decision. Do not let the drugs do the talking, because there is no way one can take a drug and make it 10x better... It is only a question of a different onset and bio-availability due to a different ROA, and in the end, it's still just the same drug. So if you want more, I'd say take more, but take more in a safe place.

Jabbing yourself and squirting drugs into your blood-stream should be a last resort, and should be done as thoroughly advised as possible - key word, advised... if you must do it, then learn all there is to learn about it first, and don't do it without someone around... a sitter who knows how to IV and is not on drugs themselves at the time, is the best companion to have, if you want to IV.

Remember, I am not as steady on this issue as you might think, and I still have only felt the immediate consequences of IV'ing, not the long-term consequences. I just hope I did alright, and I will do my best to go on without using the needle, but if I must, then it better damn well be done as good as possible. I have only experimented with this ROA for about a months time total, using up to 3 IV doses per day, and so far, I already have a hard lump in my upper arm, have veins that I am reluctant to use, because they look like they've had enough for the time being, and I guess the more I IV, the more of that bad stuff will happen to me. And this is taking all HR precautions and filtering fillers and bacteria and what not from my IV solutions, constantly wiping things with ethanol, and so forth... It's an art that is hard to perfect, as it requires some huge fucking sacrifices. But the more addictive, and more short-lived a substance is, the more one would go chasing that high, and the more IV'ing would be necessary, and eventually this will lead to mistakes like irresponsibly and impatiently stabbing the needle into a muscle and injecting after 6 failed attempts at a burnt out vein, and the likes. I'm so glad that I don't have years upon years of IV heroin abuse behind me, and I am going to do everything I can to steer clear of that path in the future.

Even if cost-wise for the drugs, IV use was more cost effective - if you factor in the cost of needles and injection supplies, then it'll likely cost the same.

Most people would use IV usage not as to keep the cost of usage down, but to get more effects from the same quantity of drugs.

@rett: Have a look at the OD directory, and browse through the listings there... there's a lot of good information to be found via this directory, in your position.

Just thought that mentioning that would balance some of the misinformation/information-prone-to-misunderstanding that might be present in my previous post. Keeping the scale aligned...

in my opinion, it all boils down to self control. i have about a $150 a day oxy habbit which would translate to about a $40 (my area quality dope) a day IV habbit. ive had the oppurtunity to get needles before and do the IV dope before but I didnt because Ive seen too many people completely destroy their lives doing that. id much rather spend $150 a day, as long as I have the money, on a habbit I know I can control and where I know what Im getting than take a gamble with my health like that.
