Erowid Reports HIGHLY EXAGGERATED?

the stupidity of most erowid reports has caused me to lose faith in the site.

This is greatly exaggerated and clearly a parody of those reckless trip reports.

Erowid does present solid information on a variety of different substances, but they need to update over there. Like others have said, some of their news articles are 4-6 + years old. A good example is the DXM FAQ, which was written in the 1990s.

Could be exaggerated, but, nevertheless it does include all the elements and factors of a methylphenidate experience.

Have you noticed that they have removed some of their information over the years? There used to be dose and effects information for most of the substances. However, over the years it seems they have removed this information for a lot of substances. No there is only the law and images information for most substances.

It appears to me that not only are most of the stories exaggerated, but they all appear to be written in the same style, using the same syntax, etc. There is some good, basic information there, but the majority of the experience reports read like they were written for a pre-teen anti-drug psa.

It would be entirely possible for anti-drug propaganda groups to infiltrate Erowid reports. In fact, knowing how wildly popular they are I would be surprised to learn they weren't

There are definitely good trip reports out there but there are some pretty ridiculous ones too.

Overall I'd say it's still useful or at least good for a laugh. I don't think a lot of people wouldn't write a report unless it was an amazing trip. And then people read other reports and they decide to exaggerate their own 'amazing' trip to top the others. And in the end you have real solid reports and then people trying to top those with their insane over the top exaggerated reports.

It should be fairly obvious to anyone with a medium amount of experience which trip reports are legit and which ones are nonsense. After looking through a handful of them I think there are definitely some great ones among the insanity.
