I have not been doing any chems in the past couple years and since then I have developed a real nasty allergy to epoxy systems due to workplace overexposure. I know that I am highly sensitized to poly amine and amide resins and hardeners (really nasty rash and subsequent eczema).

I have NO understanding of organic chemistry and my question is,

Will I also be sensitized to drugs containing "amines or amides" ?

There are several RC's I've been looking into but anytime I see the word "amine" in a drugs name I cringe :-/

Is this silly or something I should be concerned about?

no, you are just sensitized to the specific amines & epoxides used in epoxy resins and hardeners.
in fact there are many amines that are required for bodily functioning. amine groups are present in protiens, neurotransmitters, even some sugars. amide linkages are the backbones of protiens. nylon is a polyamide.
paracetamol is an amide. I bet you can take a Tylenol and not die.

the reason that epoxy resins are allergic sensitisers is they are highly reactive with protiens on your skin.
