Ephedrine Dosages?

Hey guys I did a couple searches and haven't came up with the answer that I want. I searched for the LD50 on Ephedrine and it says: 600 mg kg-1. From what I got searching in this forum someone has taken around 40mg safely. Well my problem is it seems to wear off kinda fast and some nights I take 4-6(8mg pills) every couple hours.

My question is am I taking too much? Could this end up giving me a heart attack one day while I am on them? I don't take that much everyday and its not very often that I take them like that but sometimes I can feel my heart beating pretty fast and I just want to make sure I am not going to kill myself for no reason.


I have however taken 32 triple C at one point and was taking 16 triple C everyday for a couple weeks because they were the most DXM for my money. I know that the stuff mixed in those have caused people problems with their hearts and even their life's in some cases. I don't do that stupid stuff anymore but is it safe to say I can keep taking 4-6 (8mg pills) every couple hours when I need to?

I take it to stay up when I need to finish work or something. That's why I say I don't take it all the time it's rare that I take that much multiple times a day. I don't really like the feeling it gives me it does make my head hurt slightly and my stomach always feels like I am hungry. I have tried downing energy drinks or energy pills, drinking cups and cups of coffee, sodas, candy caffeine and sugar doesn't seem to have any effect on me at all.
