ePetition to Legalise Psilocybin Mushrooms in the UK

I have created an epetition to lobby the UK governments Home Office to rethink the ban on Psilocybin mushrooms on the same day that this lot have banned the NBOMe & APB series of compounds.

The petition can be found here *edit petition finished, fail* Please sign it people, we need to stand up & be counted. Don't fear the system, I've had to give my full personal contact details to get this petition submitted & I had very few qualms about doing so because I feel this is very important to me & to the British drugs using community on the whole.

Please feel free to spread this petition every-fucking-where you can think of to draw support.

Hate to put a downer on the petition, but I cannot see the law being revoked any time soon. TBH I'm amazed mushrooms were legal to purchase online in the first place.

And besides, they still grow naturally outdoors... no-ones going to stop that :)
 
Mushrooms are definitly not my cup of tea (pun intended).. but we need a petition for all drugs to at least be de-criminalized for possession, a-la Portugal - plus once you guys do it in the UK then our crappy government in Ireland might follow suit

Could we also maybe reform that group that used to exist - forget the name of it now - that were going to launch a legal campaign to legalise mushrooms but hired a paedophile to run the site who refused to hand over the passwords/money when he was arrested and jailed?

I remember the planitive cry of "We have written to him in jail asking him to give us the passwords but he is refusing".

Link the petition through fb, feed on music groups & other forums, make this thing go viral. I can't do shit all on my own guys, stand with me. Please!

The petition is limited to shrooms for various reasons such as, the rules for petition say that only one subject may be dealt with at a time & there are already other petitions dealing with cannabis & a general review of the law. So I had to find a way to focus my petition & seeing NBOMe psychedelic drugs are banned as of yesterday, I thought a petition regarding shrooms brought a suitable symmetry to the whole business.

Plus, for Christs sake, shrooms should never have been banned in the first place. They're damned close to completely fucking harmless & moves are in the pipeline to use Psilocybin in therapy here in the UK.
 
I commend you doing this petition, sorry I can't help!! .. I don't think that they are harmless though I'm pretty sure I almost had a breakdown from the last bad trip I took lol, but certainly they should be legalised to raise awareness and reduce harm like all drugs should IMO
 
If you know any British people, mail them a link. You CAN help! :) Everyone can help, if they want to!

& as you can see by the wording of my petition, I believe that seeking the effects of Psilocybin through Novel Psychoactive Substances is considerably more dangerous than Psilocybin itself.

edit - mate mails me on FB, "I thought shrooms were already legal" Lol

Thank you very much indeed folks, great stuff. Long way to go. I set my sights low to avoid disapointment so by the time the year is up I will consider the petition a success if I get ONE PERCENT of the number needed to bring a debate to parliament, which is 100 000.

So thats 1000 signatures I am hoping for at the barest minimum!

I suspect that Fund wanker got outta peado prison with a nice little nest egg, eh? Fucks sake, I'm not even ASKING for fucking money!

I'll do what I can without asking for or spending money. But without support I'm just pissing my time away.

... & to be honest, he might be playing Devils advocate, generating discussion & he's got people there who might be even more vociferous than I would if I was arguing with him!

If I wanted to generate debate, & that was indeed one of my aims. I'm already pretty happy :)

& I hoped to outdo the cannabis one that now has 42 sigs. We're only 2 behind now & that petition has been up for 6 months. We've got almost the same number of sigs in just over a week.

Thanks to everyone who's voted & disseminated the petition, lets keep this rolling it's only just getting going! I got lots of plans to get bigger organisations & legalisation groups behind it! But we still need people just like you!
