Entheogens and Spirituality Survey (first time post)

Hey all, this is my first post. I'm currently working on a report on entheogens and spirituality for a Diploma in Communications and Media course I will be completing at the end of the year. I need to complete 100 surveys. I'm not sure about the forum rules on this matter but ill leave a link to it below. its 100% anonymous and it deals with an interesting topic. We have a Drug Studies section especially for this purpose. Check out the Drug Studies Forum Guidelines for information on how to go about getting a study/survey up there.

In the mean time I'll leave this up here as it's not doing any harm over here. I've filled out the survey myself. There are a couple of flaws I noticed in the survey, like the first question you technically ask twice - since you ask people to agree or disagree, and then ask them to agree or disagree to the opposite statement - though, for all I know this could be a control question to ensure the people filling the survey in are human. A later question asks what faith/religion you fall under, and there is no "Other" option - yes the box at the bottom says Other, please specify, but you need to have ticked one of the existing boxes to be able to submit it.

I tried filling it out but I prefer an "I don't know" option with many of these... as some/most of these aren't so clear cut, and dry. But that is surveys for us. I tried but I feel bad if not honest.

Can't complete the survey as I don't understand what this statement means from page one question one: Entheogens can be used as a step in the process of self-realization and are not a means to an end.

Isn't that a tautology, step in the process = means to an end, that end being self-realisation?

Sepher i think it means that entheogens are one of the steps of a process and not the final one

But it only gives the polar opposite of that, I think... It is just too big of a leap for either/or for me. I just feel one step (I don't know/undecided) is missing.
