Entertaining family

My 16 year old brother is coming to visit me in Melbourne this weekend, and I want him to have fun, but I'm pretty stumped as how to entertain him.

He's from the country so going to see a movie and out somewhere for dinner will have some entertainment value, but besides that I don't have any ideas. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I live in an inner city suburb, I'm 25, and (hopefully) obviously a chick.

To make this thread less Vanthcentric; Do your family come to visit you much, if you've flown far from the nest? How do you spend your time together? And is it fun or fucked?

When i lived in Melbs i used to take my family out for meals that they hadn't tried/couldn't get in the country,footy matches(carn bombers),the casino(hate it) and shopping.

My brother i go out and get pissed with and with my sister,we tend to take her daughter out

When my sister was about 25 and living on Magnetic Island near Townsville, I was about 15 and flew up there to visit.

Apart from the usual touristy things like paragliding and snorkelling we ended up getting smashed every day.

Silly drinking games and a million bucket bongs, oh how I got wasted everyday.

To a 16 year old there is nothing cooler than a older sibling that will buy them smokes and grog and get smashed with them. So that is my suggestion Vanth.

You could take him to a Gallery or two or the museum.

If you're up for it, take him to one of those laser shooting game places. A 16yo brother would love you forever if you did that. Either that or a stripclub.

Oh don't be such a prude. He's your brother, not the Virgin Mary. Get some beer and whatever else you want, then invite your hot friends over. Everybody can get smashed and then just play it by ear.

Take away the strippers and thats pretty much what I did when my younger bro came up from Tas to visit.
I introduced him to the wonderful world of ecstasy, got him totally trashed and sent him home saying "Now dont you DARE do that down there (Hobart) without me!"


Haha. He had fun. He's also a skater bum so he loved all going to all the skate parks in the city and talking to the other skater bums he watched on some of his dvds.

If your bothers 16 and from the country just take him out and about in the city. Catch the free tram that does the round trip. Take him down to docklands and if his into footy take him to the dome to check a game out.

I think just being around some different scenary will be enough to get him going.

Just try not to be too much of a planner and keep it open for him, he might just surprise you.

Oh and if the stripper plan comes into effect, may i suggest the Spearmint Rhino for an all round great stripper experience... reminds me of the last time i was there, i found three $50 notes scattered around near the bar, now THAT was a good day!

- Hitting it hard on the drink out in St Kilda somewhere;
- Smashing a few ecstasy tabs down his throat;
- Smoking several packs of Dunhill Reds;
- Getting a private of some hot stripper at the Rhino; and
- Banging one or maybe two of Vanths friends

Fuck... you could sell that to high school boys around the country as Vanths Melnourne Odyssey and make a fortune... I'd go

In regards to getting him drunk, wouldn't that be more fun with his friends? Not that I'm not awesome. If he wanted me to buy him some I would (just kidding, that's illegal!). I won't be getting him any smokes as our mum is a really gross smoker and... ew. Not cool, I doubt he'd want any.

Oh, and eggman, Spearmint Rhino is the place I'm planning to go to (probably in a couple of weeks), I've been there before and it was heaps of fun on k. Just classy enough in a trashy way, and plenty of other female customers so I don't feel odd. I hope I find some $50 too

Finally........I think your going all about this the wrong way. Before you decide what you should do with him you need to ask yourself.........do I want my brother moving in here with me or visiting more often or do I want him to stay where he is.

Having answered that you can then determine what you will do together........now if you want him to stay in the country then you need to ensure he sees the most boring god aweful stuff he has ever seen in his life........Im sure there is plenty of that in Melboring.

If not then yes introduce him to E and to having fun and showing him just what a special person you are.

I find it a little shocking some of you are suggesting she feeds E's to her 16yo bro. I know they start young but 16? (i know people start alot younger, but IMO the longer you leave it the better off you are because once the honeymoon starts, it doesn't finish for a long, long time )



Get him drunk if you must, leave the (other)drugs for when he grows up.
