So I'm in my first day of cold turkey withdrawals, it's been about 14, 15 hours, not too much aggravation or jonesing, so I don't really need much of a good word, but they are always welcome, as well as CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms.

Anyway I'm about 50-60 lbs. overweight, and want to start running. I know it's winter, but a pleasant winter it's been so far...all that preramble for the question. How long should I eait, for my lungs to heal, etc., b4 I start c25k? Any advice from any runners would be helpful, and yes, I can always utfse, but I am looking for a more personal response...?gday all

You don't say how much activity you're used to. If not much, then start very slowly. Your shins (among other things) will kill if you push too far too fast. This may involve simply fast walking to start with. Your lungs will improve probably at about the same pace as your fitness, but that shouldn't stop you from starting immediately.
