English Premier League 2008/09!

I think Villa are spent. Arsenal are on the up again, thanks to Arshavin...

Man U will win. Unless they super implode, they can't realistically lose it.

Liverpool will beat their chests, dreaming of getting up, but they'll end up limp in the end...

Chelsea... eh.

^ hellz yeah. :D impossible is nothing.

CB, every time someone says villa's spent, they pull out another stop, this year's been impressive for them either way.

^^

Yeah I know. It has been a phenomenal performance, and I'd really like to see them finish strongly and get a Champions League spot, but I'm starting to doubt...

same here. i have a soft spot for villa, partially because they're one of the first EPL teams i took a liking to and partially because the ownership is local to my area (northeastern ohio, usa), but even if they can't secure a champion's league spot, i suppose one could always hold on to the hope that o'neill could head the national team?

not that i'm english. or you for that matter. :D

^^

Martin O'Neill is one hell of a coach, and would do a great job coaching England... but that would mean that he wouldn't be at Villa anymore, and I'd prefer him still at Villa :)

Anyway, Fulham 2 - Man Utd 0!!

I didn't see the game, but 2 red cards! Scholes and Rooney!!

damn! i've been avoiding the scoreboards cause i haven't gotten to watch the chelsea game yet, but do you know how elated the result of the man u fulham match makes me!?! :D

it kinda sounds like a complete implosion. :)

Well well well... so my bet is that Hull are going down, but the real question is, which of Newcastle or Middlesborough are going to stay up in their place? Hull, after getting to ~27 points after 19 games, have now got a total of 7!!!! points in their last 16 games. Talk about a bit of fail...

Both of them are playing a bit shit. However I did see parts of the Middlesborough Man U game on the weekend and Boro created a lot of chances, even if they couldn't actually do anything with them...

West Brom are gone.

Now to the top... Man Utd have a couple of difficult games to come to close out the season, with Arsenal at Old Trafford, and a Manchester derby, but they still have 3 points and a game in hand on Liverpool. The 'pool should win their last three matches, but will have to rely on Man U dropping points. Losing the FA cup semi to Everton *may* have been helpful, even though the final wouldn't be til just after the end of the season... (from memory... could be wrong)

Champions league places are sewn up.

Europa Cup places are still up for grabs, especially after Fulham, who were in 7th lost to Liverpool, opening the door for West Ham and Man City to potentially grab 7th and the last Europa cup spot. I want to see Fulham hit Europe, as it would be fantastic for the little club that could... Schwarzer has had a phenomenal season. The switch from Boro has done him the world of good - and Boro a world of 2nd tier football, so European football would be just deserts for him and a really solid defensive line who have really succeeded this season.

More to come in the next couple of weeks :)
