Nice idea for the diamond, miss starry.
When I tell people I am getting married, they quickly look for the ring. Like it is an accomplishment. A prize. My wedding day is not the most important day of my life.
I have to explain that he cannot afford a ring. I feel the need to defend us/him. He just completed school blah blah blah. I am happy he can afford health insurance now let alone a diamond. I feel the need to have something just for everyone else.
One woman said, "he got off easy." I don't understand that logic. If I would not put myself in debt for a ring, why should he?
Are engagement rings a down payment for a woman's commitment?
The bigger the rock, the deeper his adoration?
