Energy Drinks

Read the ingredients. Some people find ephedra, kava, white willow bark, ginseng, and many other herbal ingredients to be quite valuable.
What many people don't realize is that these herbals are actually just natural sources of some very potent chemicals. A few examles would be:
Ephedra, or Ma Huang: Ephedrine HCL, a potent beta II agonist and bronchiodilator.
White Willow Bark: From which aspirin is derived
Kava: Kawain
guarana: Caffeine
...and so forth and so on.
So read up on these rather obscure ingredients and decide for yourself - many have effects that are quite profound.

There's some plain looking energy drink that I get in a gas station around my area that I find is the best. It is called "Energy Rush", comes in a can much like a red bull, and contains Ginseng, Ma Huang, Guarana and Nicotinamide (not nicotine). It is the best for waking me up and it does actually lift my mood *slightly*.

Ok, but do these damn energy drinks have enough of this shit to actually do anything? Like those damn Sobe drinks. Do they really have enough of these chemicals to affect a person?

According to the FDA, no they don't.
Stick to other chemicals if you want a rush. All these "energy" drinks are is extra calories, mostly sugar. The added B-Vitamins don't really help, and there isn't enough volume of amino acids or other chemicals to "affect" an average person, let alone a bluelighter!!! Or greenlighter...

I will often drink a redbull (blahblahblah...I happen to LOVE the taste of redbull alot of peeps do, it is all a matter of opinion) it gives me a little jump start. Honestly, the best little energy boost (of this topic) is going to be a multi-vitamin and some green tea

Blahblahblah said it the best.
First of all, it's not about "is there enough of these chemicals to affect someone". They're simply weak chemicals. You can take a ton of ephedrine and it's still not going to be as good as the shittiest meth.
And amino acids and all that jazz.. some people really really REALLY like to believe this stuff makes you smarter and generates brain cells blah blah blah. There's a reason why you can't just stop eating and survive on a Centrum Multi-Vitamin alone. There's a reason why you can't eat shitty food and just take vitamins and be healthy. And there's also a reason why people are so fucking stupid to believe that somehow energy drinks and GNC synthetic brain supplements do something, but I don't know what it is.
You can drink 10 cans of Red Bull. You might not feel drowsy anymore. You might have to piss a lot. In a few hours you'll probably feel crappier than when you started out and that's it. These drinks don't do anything exciting.

The best energy drink is Red Bull & Jagermeister.
That is some kick ass shit. But as far as energy drinks go, like everyone else said there only as good as there ingredients. There the poor man's liquid speed. Don't expect much out of them but every now & then you'll find one that does the job. I prefer Red Bull but mostly because it blends well with alcohol...

I've tried a few of the so called "energy" drinks. Sometimes up to 3 in a shot (which fucking costs like $!0 dollars). Anyways, they suck, one of them just tastes like freaking mountain dew.
If you want a legal stimulant get a bottle of Jolt! Or drink some coffee. Cheaper and they actually can get you hopped up on caffeine.
Save your money for real drugs.

My stomach hurts just thinking about that!
I tried it once, but the Jager is too thick for me and I just ended up feeling like shit for a bit...mainly cause I like to dance and it just did not help at all.
I'll stick to Red Bull and Vodka, that drink keeps you going all night long :D

just my experiences.
i regularly deprive myself of sleep (that whole school and working thing gets in the way) and if im making a long car trip and find myself dosing off at the wheel...
two energy drinks will keep me forcibly awake and alert for about 45 minutes.
im talking like, id be falling asleep eyes closed at the wheel, drink two, then im just fine for another while...
so to me, yes, theyre worth the money as opposed to falling asleep and dying.
now, if youre asking if you can rave all night long by drinking them.... doubtful.

oh damn. i drank a bottle of caffeinated water containing 200 mg's of caffeine and somehow it managed to fuck me up in a big way for hours. i have no idea why, because i drink a lot of caffeine and i used to do a couple 200 mg caffeine pills a few times a day...
energy drinks, however, have never given me energy. i might have gotten *some* from these energy mints i found at 7-11... gingko biloba, ginseng and guarana... they were called Warp and they were lil white mints with W's on them. a W on its side is an E... i wonder how many especially dumb ravers have fallen for that.

^^^^If they'd fall for Warp, they'd fall for Excedrin.....
Thanx for the posts...I tried Red Bull a couple times after I posted and I always got that shitty crash feeling about 2 or 3 hours later. Plus IMO, it tastes like shit. The only other I've tried is one of those SoBe drinks and it did nothing at all, so I don't think they're worth it. Some give energy TEMPORARILY. That's all they're good for.

Actually, I have had pretty noticeable amphetamine-like effects from sniffing ephedrine. I know it isn't meant to be able to cross the blood-brain barrier as efficiently, but I still find it strong enough to be worthwhile, if you are into that kind of thing.

Soviet-
The chemicals in some of these drinks have been known to do something - they just don't put enough of it in.
Do scientists just make up claims about certain chemicals so companies can sell vitamins and energy drinks? I believe that there is some science in there, if you look closely enough with some of these things.

I'm not saying I'm going to turn into Albert Einstein here. I'm not going to stop eating regular food. That's what meth heads do anyway.
And what is the difference between illegal things and legal things anyway? The government tells us what is legal and illegal. If you only think that illegal things are worth your time then you are consciously letting the government tell you what is worth your time. Only you do it the opposite most normal people do it.
And sorry I couldn't reply in the funny sarcastic method that gets people cool points on this board. Maybe next time.
