Opioids Endo Moprh Sulf ER + 5mg Methadone

Hi. I'm new to posting to the forum although I've lurked for a long time. I've searched in other places on this forum and can't seem to find the answer. This may seem like a silly question but i was wondering if SWIM took around 60 mg of Morphine sulfate ER orally then 30 mgs of same plugged (SWIM reports thats the ONLY way to go lol), if said person were to then take 5 mgs of methadone about 2 hours after the plugged dose...would the methadone potentiate the effect of the morph or would it block it? I would seem to think it would potentiate it but since I don't know the exact mechanism of action and so on and all of the posts I've seen seem to deal with the ingestion of other opiates AFTER the ingestion of methadone, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the hypothetical effect of this would be. Thanks :D just to clarify, the person in question has little to no tolerance to opiates (hasn't ingested any, including methadone, in over six months) and is currently only taking a low dose of an SSRI daily.

First off, please don't use the term SWIM. It's irritating to read and there is no use for it (just because you're paranoid doesn't mean people are coming to get you, to put a spin on an ol' phrase ).
It's likely that it will "potentiate" it. Methadone only blocks Opiates in large doses and after you've taken the Methadone.
e.g. You take 20mg of Methadone then take 30mg of Morphine - You won't feel the Morphine...
You take 30mg Morphine, you feel it, then you take 20mg Methadone - You'll feel the Methadone..

p.s. Don't take 20mg Methadone, stick with yer 5mg

thnx for the info...I find the ubiquitous SWIM to be irritating as well!the only reason i used it is because some forums online mandate that you use it for some reason (paranoia lol)....lol and yeah i hear you on the caveat about sticking to the 5 mgs.....10 mgs was slightly uncomftorble, 20 mgs would prolly turn me to jelly lol.

I'm not sure if this is completely true. I think thats only the case when methadone has built up in your system over a period of time. I've taken 90 mg of methadone, and shot a bag of dope and felt it. For the first week that I was on methadone maintenance I could get high on heroin still, probably my receptors weren't saturated. But I'm also pretty sure that 20 mg of methadone isn't anywhere close to a blocking dose, more like 60.
