Of your own free will you submerged
into the depths of my eternal fire
quickened within it's power
confused by the everlasting light
lacking the knowledge to claim it
and the will to open your mind

Now you stand in the shadow
of a heart once open and waiting
peering into the abyss of my eyes
puzzled by the lack of warmth
as you seek to remove me from my world
into the ignorance of your life

Delusions shroud your perception of me
you've never looked beyond the veil
deep beneath my skin, into my soul
to the truth of what you see as insanity
the very essence of existence
the mysteries that the universe beholds

Our time is over, paths long chosen
dwelling in different worlds of vows unspoken
there's nothing of me that you can claim
no power you hold to bend my will
you're only a memory of what never became
a promise spoken from mundane hell

you just keep getting better and better. that was definitely, and by far, my favorite piece that you have submitted. when did you become clairvoyant?

I had to read this a few times before I understood it: I agree with the above posters: This poem is great:

Boy, once again,, loving this work

Delusions shroud your perception of me
you've never looked beyond the veil
deep beneath my skin, into my soul
to the truth of what you see as insanity
the very essence of existence
the mysteries that the universe beholds

that is my favorite part,, all to many times we forget to look past the out layer of people and into who they really are.

awesome :)
