Hello, Newbie from Seattle here. I jumped of 40 mgs of Methadone 10 days ago. My original dose was 110 mg for 8 years. Wanting to get outta the clinic so bad,I jumped down to 40 in less than 6 weeks. Did my Ibogaine flood 8 days ago. I am still suffering pretty horribly but without the Ibogaine I would've been WAY more screwed.... Also been using Kratom for the past 3 days. This is a godsend!!! I dont feel bad 4 using the Kratom. It does give a little relief from the 24/7 terror. I plan to do Kratom as needed for a month at which time I figure the worst of the Methadone w/d will be over. Anyone here done this method?

Yep kratom is a godsend for those trying to kick a strong opiod (dope, 'done, opana etc)

Just be aware that after that month, you will have cravings/minor withdrawals from stopping the kratom. If I were you id do a very slow taper lasting that month, little less every day. I'm sure you know the deal seeing as you did more or less the same with the 'done. but since kratom contains an opioid, you will get small withdrawals from it

Or you can do like my friend: he basically used kratom as maintenence like suboxone or methadone for about a year because he was a longterm junkie and his post-acutes lasted that long usually. 8 years is a long ass time especially for something with a long half life like methadone. But hopefully within a month you'll be straight, wouldn't be surprised if you noticed some PAWS a couple months down the road

Kratom's opioid constituent is 7-Hydroxy-Mitrgynine and is only ever present in concentrations of less than 1/10th of 1 percent. It isn't enough to "cause withdrawals" and this is why there is no cross tolerance between Kratom and actual opiates/opioids. The leaf rarely has any effect with people who have recently consumed large dosages of opiates/opioids or who have had habits of any duration. That said, the leaf is rarely sold. Instead, all sorts of spurious concoctions are sold as Kratom and Kratom Extracts. What they actually contain is anyone's guess.

Welcome to Bluelight buck. :) New Member Introductions is a forum to introduce yourself to Bluelight rather than ask questions like this as there are many other forums for that. With that said, I'm going to move this thread over to Other Drugs so you can get more input. Feel free to come back to NMI to post an intro thread. All the best. <3 :)
