Endep (Amitryptaline) and Valium (Diazepam)

I'll make it quick.

Im taking Endep (Amitryptaline) for nerve pain, and im taking 75mg a night before bed.

I had a longish flight today which i take valium for as im a very anxious passenger. My pharmacist and doc said it should be ok to take them in unison but i a bit paranoid about taking my dose tonight. Anyone know if Endep and Valium (diazepam.....like you guys dont know that..lol) will have any adverse reactions? I took 50mg of valium over a 4 hour flight and need to take the 75mg of endep in the next couple of hours. IM still a bit affected by the valium but not all that bad.

Anyone have any experience with taking both medications or should i just ring the drugs and poisons information line?

Just rang the national poisons and drug info service and they said it should be cool, id still like to get some personal experience from someone on the same path as me???

Given their pharmacologies, they should act independently of each other.

After a bit of research on google etc, I'd say that they should be fine. Do you have much of a benzo tollerance? In particular, have you used much diazapam before?

If no then don't over do it, but a low to moderate dose on top of the Amitryptaline should give no adverse effects.

As stated, this is only from a bit of reading that I came to this answer, I have not tried it myself.

You'll be fine, considering the poison control center, your doctor and your pharmacist said so, and the pharmacology (method of action) of those two drugs is different.
