where do i begin! all good music draws an emotional response from the listener, whether that be euphoria or grief. some of my fave tunes include:
Radiohead-exit music for a film oh my god! this song always makes me want to cry!
the beatles-across the universe i like the lyric 'nothins gonna change my world' cos it makes me feel better when it feels like the whole world's on top of me
queens of the stone age-feel good hit of the summer my first pill kicked in while they played this at the big day out in case you don't know the lyrics are 'nicotine valium vicodan marijuana ecstasy and alcohol' a sign, no?
tool-stinkfist i still remember the first time i heard that voice& i was hooked
underworld-pearl's girl you can get lost in karl hyde's monotone- its like a mantra!

Well.. I was just sittin here in my room and all of a sudden Mr. PVD comes on my stereo with 'For an Angel' and sends shivers down my spine. *gurgle of joy*
So of course the next thing I do is dive for the search button to find a fav trax thread.
There are only a certain few tracks that send shivers down my spine every time I hear them, and they are the ones that really mean something to me.
A few others:
Orbital - Halcyon + on + on
Solar stone - Seven cities (such a happy track)

Underworld - Born Slippy
Underworld - Jaunita/Kiteless
Hybrid Theory - finished symphony (think thats right)
I'm sure there are a few others that I cant think of right now.
Thanx for ya time.

Chicane - No Ordinary Morning
"In the darkness that surrounds me now, there is no piece of mind"
Des'ree - Kissing You
"But watching starts without you, my soul cries"
Sarah McLachlan - Adia
"I search myself and everyone to see where we went wrong"
Radiohead - Exit Music For A Film
"You can laugh a spineless laugh. We hope your rules and wisdom choke you"
Sarah McLachlan - Last Dance
(instrumental)
Jeff Buckley - Lilac Wine
"I drink much more than I oughta drink because it brings me back you..."

It's amazing just how many people list Radiohead and Jeff Buckley in all of the fave tracks threads. I've always felt a little out of place in Bluelight and clubs and stuff because I generally don't listen to Electronic music outside of a club.
It's great to see that Bluelighter's are open to different styles of music. That's something that I really disliked over in the Grunge and Metal scenes.
Back on topic, I've always thought that if I ever crash a car, it will be because Radiohead - Street Spirit came across the airwaves while I was driving. That song invokes such strong emotions that I barely remember to breathe, let alone do anything else. Exit Music has similar effects, I saw radiohead in '97 (i think) and when they played that track, it was simply amazing. The whole crowd was completely quiet and it was like it was just me and Thom york. Very beautiful.
Actually, I think I could go on for ever in this thread. At least half my life has been shaped by music, I don't think I have a memory that can't be associated with a song.
