Emotional Songs.

Linkin Park - Pushing Me Away
Love that song to death.
There are couple of parts from a few of PvD's sets that make me feel so exhilarated, but I don't know the actual song names.

And there's this one song that's been played at sublime twice in a row now that I love but again don't know the name of.
God damnit that pisses me off!

To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.

...could go on for ages
Actually...a majority of well written music evokes a range of emotions...

I could go on forever... Music isn't a part of my life, it is my life.
I'll just list some bands... I don't find electronica very emotional at all, it's party/driving/rave music for me.
In no order...
Pink Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins, Neil Young, Tool, Pearl Jam, Live, Deftones, Nirvana, Led Zepplin, RadioHead, Counting Crows, The Cranberries, The Whitlams, Bob Dylan, Green Day, U2, Creed, Metallica, Tonic and I can't think of any more... Shakespeare has become implanted in my brain from school, and it's best I keep it that way till my assessment is over tomorrow morning.

Fwoor.. just come across this thread - ok, it's 568436875 messages long and has been going on for ages, and given that I'm on someone else's computer right now I don't have time to read through them all! I just thought I'd throw in my 2c worth for 'emotional songs':
When it comes to techno, I guess tracks that come to mind are 'hope' (oliver lieb mix) by illuminatus, 'generator' by parker & clind, 'lost in love' by legend b (ok, cheese maybe, but ooooh does it set off the goosebumps!
smile.gif
) .. and, shit, now that I think about it, about 50-100 other tracks that all have the potential to make every hair on my body stand on end/bring tears to the eyes while on the dancefloor!
When it comes to, err, "normal" (?!) music, well.. I have a couple of tapes that, weird as it may sound, I _love_ to sing along to in the car at any time, but especially when feeling super emotional on the way home from/the day after a party! Songs on these tapes include..
Anna begins (counting crows)
Black (pearl jam)
With or without you (u2)
Running to stand still (u2)
Paranoid android (radiohead)
Don't stop me now (queen) - AWESOME 'good mood' song! .. very annoying otherwise
smile.gif

Betterman (pearl jam)
Nothingman (pj)
Comfortably numb (floyd)
Mayonnaise (smashing pumpkins)
.. and, ooh, so many others.. it's a real funny (?) sight when I'm at the lights next to a 'normal' person, singing _real_ loud and crying at the same time to one of these songs, sometime during the day on a sunday.. ahhh, funny funny.. but it's all good
smile.gif

Erg.. kinda manic/tired at the same time at the moment, so this message has just been babble.. suffice to say that, as others have said, music goes way beyond being part of my life, it _is_ my life.. any non-chemical/sex stimulus which has the potential to make me rush so hard that I break out in goosebumps/cry is a pretty special thing as far as I'm concerned!
later..

Im a musician i get loads of these and could write a book of songs that 'get' me.. in my top ten but not neccessarily in order are:
CHICANE: Halcyon
U2: With or Without You
JEFF BUCKLEY: Hallelujah
makes me cry. every time.

oh oh oh... im DEFINATELY with you on TENSHI, Gouryella
And coming down I like to listen to HILLSONG (music recorded by Hills Christian Life Centre....) "Unfailing Love" off the "For This Cause" album...

OMG Beautiful (7" Canny Remix) By Mandalay.
This song is soo deep and mellow, it touches me in ways no other song can.

The female vocals are amazing, love it.
For those at Mystic 5, i'll play it for you after the event, great to comedown to.

Laurent Garnier - The man with the red face
