Agree with most ppl here, particularly BT "Dreaming" went sick when Scott Bond played that as an opener at GC. The chick vocalist is also the same one who does Skydive - Freefall

Suprised no-one as yet has mentioned Art of Trance - "Madagascar", makes me very emotional, one of the best build-ups to a song you will ever here
smile.gif
Also another by BT, yes i luv him
wink.gif
"Godspeed" one of the best songs to listen to while peaking, very uplifting
smile.gif

Universal Nation, For an Angel and 1998 are probably my other all-time favs that others have mentioned

Hearing Moby play "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" three weeks ago really affected me. It was the most moving experience that I've felt from music so far. The beautiful contrast between the soulful male vocals and the angelic female vocals, combined with the soaring chord progressions absolutely swept me away. Just thinking back on it now is giving me shivers.

Aside from the nice trancy tracks and the other well know tracks that everyone has mentioned, a couple of my emotional tracks are:
Mess - Ben Folds Five
Magic - Ben Folds Five
Just listen to the words of those songs...
Oh yeah, my most fave emotional track is Halcyon + on + on ....ahhh the memories

Common Sense isn't all that common

Jeez,
I always catch these census stuff when everyone has mentioned what I would have.
Now,
Having just started an awesome relationship with the best girl in the world (OK I am in love, honeymoon period!!!!!
smile.gif
)
I have been feeling pretty mushy lately.
But yeah Rockee, "Gorecki - Lamb" is an awesome track. The Number 1 track of all time.
I will bore you all now with a little tale (hmm this a bit of a sop) Only this last Saturday, I was driving up to St Andrews with my girlfriend and two friends, when Gorecki came on the radio. Now at this time, I was feeling pretty happy, nice day, going to the country, with a girl who rocks my world, and good friends, etc. This song came on, and the lyrics..........sheesh just amplified my contentment and feelings of being just blessed to the extent that tears started rolling down my cheeks because my mind just felt...elevated, you know.....the feeling we all look for in bikkies I suppose. It was an awesome moment.
Just the lines.....
"I want to love you here.......till the end of time.....till the world stops turning............I've found the one....that I've been waiting for........
Sorry I had to share that one, because thats what we all try for huh? Those moments of completion, when you don't think that it can get any better. Its kind of a 'Chasing Amy' theory.
But anyway enough of that... everyone has pinched ALL the songs I would have mentioned so I will repeat just to have my say:
Pearl Jam - Black (the song that talks about losing the one you thought was your soulmate....argh, I smoked many a self-pitying billy with that song)
Jeff Buckley - Everybody here wants you (and most other stuff he does, the most tragic loss to music since Lennon)
Massive Attack - Blue Lines (the album)
Simon and Garfunkel - Scarborough O'Fair and The Boxer (Eagle dude, you have reached automatic legend status in my books for saying that - I agree Paul Simon is a fucking poet)
BT- Yes 'Dreaming' rocks
Chicane - Saltwater
PVD - For an Angel (the only time I have been really emotional at a rave on the dance floor - and yes at Trade!!!)
Ben Harper - A track I can't remember, but I think it was mentioned.
Moby - Why does my heart feel so bad? - Fuck if that doesn't effect you nothing will.
And the only two not mentioned is Pink Floyd - Us and Them (that sax solo stomps on your emotions)
- The Mission - Butterfly on a Wheel.
That last one is from a UK Gothic band, that a friend used to listen to (a good friend) and we shared a tragedy around that time. I can't bear to hear it ever again.
This is a cool thread. It just shows the power of music regardless of genre. I salute you all.
