Eminem discussion

Oh man, I've been waiting so long for this. Im going to try to wait until the offical release date so I can buy a physical copy. must..resist...ahh

The video for Not Afraid is boring as hell. And I really don't like the song he did with Pink. I'll reserve my judgement for the entire album when I hear it, of course.

Wow, after Relapse I was hoping for something REALLY good (Relapse was fucking awesome), this album sucks....Seriously, whats with the motivational speeches, the ridiculous vocals harmonies, the emo-ish lyrics-??? I much prefer Eminem talking bout killing people and eating their unborn fetuses....There are some good moments on this, but the use of pseudo-trance instruments (such as in Seduction, which is actually not a bad song) is annoying and innappriate. That said, the lyrics for the second verse of Seduction is funny as...

^With everyone hating on this album I have to wonder if you have heard the whole album or have just heard a few of the leaked singles....cuz I just listened to the whole album from start to finsih and it was sick. Check out these tracks and tell me this album is still garbage-
1. Cold Wind Blows
2. Talkin’ 2 Myself Feat. Kobe
6. Going Through Changes
8. Seduction
10. Space Bound
11. Cinderella Man
12. 25 to Life
14. Almost Famous

I don't know, man. I just can't really dig the new Em. I can respect his progression, but at the same time, it's kind of ruined the appeal that he had [to me] a lot. Like, I really enjoyed his early stuff. He had a great flow, a great delivery, and he always painted a very vivid picture. The "darkness" of his earlier stuff, is what grabbed me.

I mean, in my opinion "Relapse" wasn't even good. A few songs were decent at best. But, "Recovery" leaked, I downloaded it, and I'm not impressed, at all. This, in my opinion, is easily his worst album that he's ever dropped.

worse than encore?

Whatever I guess some people are bound to hate

How am I "hating?" It's all personal preference. I dig the old 'Em. But, as I've said, I respect his progression in music. I just think he's gone the wrong ways. But if I'm a hater, then fuck it. I'll listen to my shit, without a second thought, while you spin the new Em album.

@Burn_Out, yes, worse than Encore.

Yo that wasn't a personal attack, just saying that you cant please everyone, ya know...different strokes for different folks I guess

I deffinitly am a huge fan of all Em's older stuff(even "Infinite"), wasn't very into The Eminem Show or Encore (ofcourse there's some tracks on those albums I like but no where near as much and his older stuff.)

The Relapse was a lot better just wasn't very into that voice he used on songs like "3am", I was really impressed by his verse on the Drake track Forever also on Drop The World with Lil' Wayne.

I just recently heard "I'm Not Afraid" and liked it, his skill is still there and he shows it and his flow when he raps on some songs has gotten really good.

I know artist mature and don't always stay the same that's why I don't base my opinion on his new stuff conpared to his old stuff, I can say I like the derection he's going in deffinitly one of the greatest MC's ever in hip-hop.

Relapse > The Eminem Show > Recovery > The Slim Shady LP > The Marshall Mathers LP > Encore

his verses on "Forever", "Drop The World" and his "Despicable" freestyle > better than anything he's ever done

btw...the bonus tracks leaked a little before midnight (when the album went on sale on iTunes):

"Session One" (feat. Slaughterhouse - minus Joe Budden, who's verse wasn't allowed by Amalgam Digital) Produced by Just Blaze

"Ridaz" (Produced by Dr. Dre)

is he still on that emo tip?

i'd say 7 out of the 17 album tracks are "emo"...which i don't really mind...The Eminem Show was VERY emo, but it had the perfect production to go with it...this album...ehh...i'm just not feeling the production on a lot of tracks...the shit just doesn't mesh like an Eminem album should...too experimental is really all i can say...shoulda just stuck to the formula thats worked so well for him in the past
