EMERGENCY!!! This Friday 11/11/2016 swim has an appointment to talk with a doctor about possibly being prescribed Suboxone to help swim with heroin addiction. A little background about swim, he is 24 years old, has been using heroin since he was 17 and has recently gone from snorting to IV in the past year. Typically swim uses 1-3 buns per day depending on the financial status. Swim will use more if he has more money. Swim has had enough of this and is trying to quit for good and needs help! Swim is trying to get on suboxone maintenance and has an appointment tomorrow. He has called a few doctors trying to set up an appointment and finally got this one. Swim is worried though because each place he called has stated that the doctor will have to talk with him and decide if he thinks suboxone maintenance is right for swim and will help out. Swim needs these subs and is worried about what to say, act, and do. Swim just got out of detox last week but the place he went to had a strange suboxone taper method and once swim left the detox after completion he was still sick so he went and bought some heroin to take off the edge. Swim has been using for the past week since then. Swim is worried with what to say to the doctor to get prescribed subs. He isn't sure if he should tell the doctor that he is still using and needs the subs to quit, tell the doctor he went to detox relapsed and is now clean, or tell the doctor he went to detox and is still clean. Swim is very serious about quitting and wants nothing to do with heroin anymore. Swim has had roughly 16 relapses in his using career and has tried everything except suboxone maintenance to quit including the vivitral shot. Swim has in the past had 1 year sober but unfortunately relapsed. So please help swim out with what to tell the doctor so he will 100% be prescribed suboxone once he sees the doctor tomorrow!!!!!! The appointment costs $350 for the initial visit and $150 each visit after. The receptionist stated the 2nd visit would be 1-2 weeks after the initial visit to see how the patient is feeling with the medication. Swim is just very worried he will say the wrong thing and will not be prescribed the suboxone and will and up getting dope sick and, will then continue to use dope which he doesn't want to do so please help.
P.s. swim has looked in depth into suboxone maintenance and has weighted out the pros and cons. He understands subs are still addictive and that the withdrawal from subs is worse than dope. Swim is strictly looking for answers/help for his questions and not other oppinions on how to stop. Thanks!!
