embarrasing bands your bastard parents bred into you

I feel sorry for you guys...

I guess I'm lucky, my parents didn't breed me into a bunch of embarrasing shit, actually I got quality. :)

What I got was stuff like;

Joni Mitchell
Bob Dylan
Et al.

And lots of classical, as well as some afro-american soul based piano. :)

Good sound non-embarrassing quality shit. :D

-plaz out-

I wouldn't really call them embarrasing, but i grew up listening to bands like,
Pink Floyd
deep purple
Led Zepplin =D
AC DC
Doors
rolling stones
And many more bands like those.
thats all I could think off
Though my mum had a pretty crappy taste in music.

Ekk! I'm an aging raver, and looking at the bands you listed as those of your parents, they were all around for my youth. Was it just bad luck that your parents had such shite taste?

If your parents are my age, mid forties, how come the weren't into Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Love, Hendrix, Van Der Graff Generator, and all the other original acid music?

Or if they were around for punk; Pistols, Cure, Souxie, Stranglers, Joy Division, Damned etc, and all the glue sniffin crew.

Mind you, when the rave scene first kicked off I made the mistake of being a goth; Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the nephilim, Dub sex etc.

Well, thanks for the trip down memory lane anyway!

My Dad is like, the king of breeding old bands into his kids ;) I don't mind though, because a lot of it is just sensational music and it always reminds me of the good times I've spent with him (especially on long road trips where we'd blast out the old music for 10 hours straight and have a ball).

Sooo..

Queen (who have become my all-time favourite band as a result)
The Beatles
Electric Light Orchestra (these guys rule.)
Wings (Paul McCartney's spin-off band)
Simon & Garfunkle
Chicago
Jethro Tull
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Sir Elton John
The Alan Parsons Project
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Genesis (okay, that one is slightly embarrassing)

SO many others. I love my old music. I think I might go and listen to some now.
