Elon Musk officially buys Twitter, DONE DEAL !

He seems to have an almost pathological desire for the attention/praise of others
remember when he paid Dave Chapelle to bring him on stage during a comedy specia amd suck his dick in front of the audience and the whole crowd booed him then he locked himself in his office for the whole next day in a K hole and the police were called and almost broke down the door to do a welfare check.

Next level delusion to the the ppl of SamFrancisco were going to get in line to suck his dick on stage.

Fucks me off. Youtube is dying by deliberate policy moves, google search is fucked, I'm just glad I spent my younger years searching for information when it was there.. because very soon the internet will be nothing more than a television set and playground for corporations to hawk their shite, and anyone who dares to post anything anti-establishment will be identified and subject to what the Stasi called 'Zersetzung'. I'm already seeing my favourite subversive content creators tone down and even disappear altogether.

This fucking world man. I'm tired of it. It's utter gobshite. Where's that fucking asteroid. *end rant*
This hits very hard. It's a tough thing to qualify/quantify but things are definitely changing in these arenas.

Well no, engineers aren't scientists. They are high-tech plumbers thinking they invented the wheel.
In general yes.

But there are plenty of engineers with PhDs which itself is a research based degree where they had to conduct research and discover/invent something novel.

Also plenty of academic professors with engineering degrees whose bread and butter is basic research in whatever field.

Francis Arnold is a chemical engineer and Nobel prize winner in chemistry. I’d wouldn’t call her not a scientist despite having only engineering degrees to her name

Bet he's not happy about this. Each of them clearly look like they have a great sense of humor

haha my grandpa was an engineer

ofc there's always been people like da Vinci, or Daimler, Ford, Tesla, but a big chunk of engineers today mostly just plan and build houses, no matter what branch of engineering they studied in the first place.
supply engineering is the most needed one by a longshot. Though I never get whether PhD is a doctorate or a professorate though. Anyways most engineers don't bother with either and just build houses and kindergartens and shit.

engineering and science is always a weird thing. they are by definition not scientists, but in the confines of making discoveries, they are seen as scientists.

It's really not that hard to see where this is all heading. 30 years ago, ok fair enough. But today? After the past three years especially? It couldn't be more obvious. Especially when Blair spells it out for everyone in his stupid policy institute crap. Digital fucking gulag.

Look at the UK.

Lack of police (that they deliberately concocted by removing stations).. that's ok, facial recognition.
Lack of GP's and NHS under pressure.. that's ok, AI infrastructure.
Lack of classroom space and quality (due to over worked staff, concocted).. that's ok, AI infrastructure.
Overly complicated bureaucratic processes in gov services.. that's ok, DigitalID.
"oMg tEh chIlDRen oNLinE haRms"
(caused by the system itself treating children as a whole like fucking commodities).. that's ok, DigitalID.

Sorry, none of this is directed at you personally, I'm just in a mood today  I think it just has really dawned on me recently how utterly shite youtube and google have become. They were a solace for me, something to do in my free time to expand my knowledge, and now they have become just another thing denied making this life even more shite than it already was - I would go outside, but the weather is shite too lol.

YouTube has been dumb as hell for years now, it’s full of videos like “YO I FILLED MY SWIMMING POOL WITH GOGURT!!1!” that have like 200M views lol

This removal of the downvote button on YouTube was one of the single worst online platform decisions ever made in history.

And i guarantee it was made by a room full of "diverse” staff that look like this

Youtube fighting adblockers was even dumber.
Only made adblockers better and a lot of people aware of them that weren't before :ROFLMAO:

I saw a video on twitter that had no sound and got 24k likes and it reminded me of dead internet theory

The "dead internet theory" originally appeared as an online conspiracy theory suggesting that most online activity is driven no longer by genuine human interactions but by bots, AI, and algorithmically curated content

The media go on about Russian troll farms, but they expect us to believe our militaries and defence contractors aren't doing exactly the same.. filling up the comments/likes everywhere on the internet to control the narrative.

Almost half of all internet traffic is automated bots (in 2022).

Only smiley smiley faces allowed.

I hate when I am looking for an old youtube video or clip from something I had seen in my early internet days or even later in the 2010's that are now completely scrubbed from the internet and don't even get me started on google search results.

Did anyone see Tate's 'private' call with Elon Musk? Where he thanks Elon for 'saving humanity'?

Absolutely laughable. One why would he video the call if it's a private conversation. Two how is Elon saving humanity? He is literally designing the technology that will be used to enslave everyone. Eg Neuralink.

Also I doubt our saviour wears a Bamophet jacket. Like Elon's Halloween costume. They are laughing at us in plain sight.

He will use Twitter to force Digital ID for all online accounts. When he does that Social Media is dead in the water. Unless you want to be held accountable for anything you say there, i personally don't.

Here is the Andrew Tate video. I can't imagine how naive someone has to be to fall for this. Both are 100% controlled opposition.

At least Musk dropped out of OpenAI.

It's this whole Spiel that the general narrative has built up from the ground.
He's the tech savvy wiz kid that's gonna save the world, and they're gonna play it like that.

It's for the same reason that everyone pretends electric cars are good for the environment.
"good for the environment" sells today. That's why it's their whole marketing scheme now

Nobody knows what good a Tesla does, but they sure as hell know it's good.
Even though making just one of these lithium batteries costs a million Indian child workers an entire day of searching through trash city,
and the Carbon footprint is worse than driving a tractor in a circle 24/7 all year long. For just the one battery.
That needs to be renewed in 5 years..and no scientist, no engineer, nobody speaks up - even though everyone in the community is aware of the fact that they are far from being good for the environment.

But it's electric! YEAH! THE FUTURE IS HERE! Saving the planet by throwing money at stuff and letting semi-enslaved children work for us! FUCK YEAH

Electric cars are moved by lithium batteries and their production entails high CO2 emissions. The cost of lithium batteries is around 73 kg CO2-equivalent/kWh (Figure 1). Production of a single battery with a range of 40 kWh (e.g. Nissan Leaf) and 100 kWh (e.g. Tesla) emit 2920 kg and 7300 kg of CO2, respectively.

For example, a modern 300 horsepower Tier 4 tractor operated for 200 hour per year would generate 51,950 lbs of CO2 per year. In metric tonnes, that equals 23.5 tonnes per year.

For illustration, the Tesla Model 3 holds an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery. CO2 emissions for manufacturing that battery would range between 2400 kg (almost two and a half metric tons) and 16,000 kg (16 metric tons).

So not quite a tractor driving in circles for a year but maybe like 1/4 - 1/2 a year.

Note: numbers above provided by simple google search so the info may not be factually correct

it was a bit of a hyperbole, but yeah - ofc - you did the math, you are correct
it's also prolly not a million Indian slave kids per battery that dig for the shinies for a day

Tell me about it. If I search for my own youtube videos, with the exact title wording, it doesn't show up. Same thing with google.. it used to be like a library system, not a curated gatekeeping operation. Shit is wack.

Tesla is about the stock price.

Musk always has got something on the horizon that will be there and will change everything, except it doesn't and then everyone forgets about it.

Remember the batteries that were gonna change everything, the robotaxis that are just around the corner, their solar panels that will be worth so much, now the robots of which there will be a billion by 2040. I'm forgetting tons of things, but the point is that he can't keep it up forever.

He's got the Tesla board in his pocket, cause he pays them many millions cause they do what he says, so it's a cash cow for as long as he can keep it up.

Sadly for him it's his only remaining profitable business.
