i think he's good too. for now.

A tunnel for cars to drive through, a revolutionary concept!I remember when Elon first invented that tunnel for cars. I remember thinking 'wow, what a visionary'. I think we all knew he was destined for great things at that point.
what would he offer that those apps don't?
they're all pretty entrenched - paypal has been around 25 years and has over 400 million users.
i'm not sure how involved musk still is but he's not been involved in active management since 2000.

I was 70% sure it was sarcastic, but maybe that number would be higher if I wasn't autistic?Yes I often wonder if the level of sarcasm involved in much of my posting ever comes across lol
I particularly liked his attempt at role playing Homer Simpson designing a new concept car, the cyber truck.I remember when Elon first invented that tunnel for cars. I remember thinking 'wow, what a visionary'. I think we all knew he was destined for great things at that point.

Same here.Yeah things I type often seem funny to me, rehearsed in my AuDHD head, but come across a bit flat, insulting, or completely nutty to others so![]()
he also legitimately beleieves that life could be a simulation (whatever that means). He has no understand of the most basic chemistry and biology.I
The guy wants to link your brain to machines for christ sake. How do you square that circle with his apparent concern over free speech lmao.
I can answer that at least. It's a concept in theoretical physics/astrophysics elegantly called the "simulation hypothesis", partially based on the Kardashev scale, where intelligent civilisations would always improve in certain tiers. Type 1 would be in full control of its planet, having access to all resources - especially energy. We're not quite there.he also legitimately beleieves that life could be a simulation (whatever that means).
Those are all sound points but despite believing they are kookie, you gave rationale for why.I can answer that at least. Type 1 would be in full control of its planet, having access to all resources - especially energy. We're not quite there.
Type 2 would be full control over a star, type 3 its galaxy, and other physicists have since added type 4 extragalactic energy, type 5 i don't even fucking know anymore black holes or some shit, until you finally arrive at control of reality itself, or the entire universe - however you wanna call it.
Using Drake's equation, which calculates the probability of another intelligent civilisation just within our galaxy - they ask why haven't we met aliens and come to 2 "conclusions":
a) we live in a simulation
b) all civilisations die before reaching the point of having too much control, and therefore prevent it from ever happening
and that's why he thinks we might live in a simulation. Which would be fun and logical all in all, but
they ofc are not factoring in c) maybe we're among the first and the universe just wasn't cold enough before, or full of gamma rays. planets' atmospheres unstable, stuff kept dying, fuck do i know.
or d) maybe we are in some kind of quarantine? not really being interacted with until we reach some technological or ethical standard. there certainly have been many officials, agents and soldiers coming forward about UAP/UFOs showing rather supervisory behaviour. If they're to be believed
or e) the bible is real, praise Jesus before he comes down with a chainsaw and a katana to annihilate the unworthy demons we have become.
Well no, engineers aren't scientists. They are high-tech plumbers thinking they invented the wheel. Those are all sound points but despite believing they are kookie, you gave rationale for why.
Elons rationale seems to be the result of excess ketamine cocaine and listening to real physicists that have strayed from serious research into book selling to the laymen, On Joe Rogan explain to an illiterate, uneducated stoner with CTE, what their research or hypotheses are, in a very watered down version (it’s for brain dead Rogan and his audience). Elon hearing “we live in a simulation" and being a nerd and having seen the matrix, combined with being high on ketamine - leads him to believe this.
It’s not the same way a scientist arrives at such hypotheses. It’s the way a lazy person that doesn’t read and study that only watches YouTube videos passively to "learn” arrives at such a conclusion.
If a persons knowledge base/worldview is made up of what they’ve seen on YouTube passively watching "lectures” and podcasts without having to account for or test their understanding in any way such as a real world test, challenging interview, or academic test….said person is simply brainwashed and doesn’t have much understanding of a rationale for why they believe what they believe.
It's coming. I saw an article by Blair (ugh) and his fucking 'institute' the other day, talking about how we need to make Britain a world leader blah blah blah.. AI this and that.. and of course, DigitalID's for 'convenience' of accessing gov services. He will use Twitter to force Digital ID for all online accounts. When he does that Social Media is dead in the water. Unless you want to be held accountable for anything you say there, i personally don't.
