On Thursday, August 4, movie theaters nationwide will be transformed as NCM Fathom and Insomniac Events come together to present Electric Daisy Carnival Experience, a documentary on the most prestigious electronic music festival on the planet. This cinematic tour de force will feature an all-star line-up of the most popular DJs in the world, jaw-dropping visuals, heart-pounding performances, exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews and cutting-edge fashion. Electric Daisy Carnival Experience will be captured live on July 26 and broadcast nationwide to movie theaters for a one night only event on Thursday, August 4 at 9:00pm local time.

Come and experience performances by Deadmau5, Kaskade, Will.I.Am, Swedish House Mafia, Above & Beyond, Benny Benassi, Moby, Fedde Le Grand, Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, TRVS x A-Trak, Duck Sauce, MSTRKRFT, Afrojack, and a special tribute to DJ AM.

I'm just wondering who thought it would be a good idea to put this in the movie theatre?

Wouldn't it be better overall to release something like this a month or 2 before the actual event happens for free (downloadable) instead of a 1-2 minute trailer like they usually do?
 
Supposedly during the premier in HW there was almost a riot so they decided to cancel it everytwhere "for safety reasons"
 
that's so ridiculous

there was only a riot because kaskade decided to put on a free show. good intentions but bad idea
 
Went to the only theater in Indy that would play it.... funny enough .... the theater was called The Rave.... Knowning that I will probably never go to EDC it was kinda cool to see it in moive form. Shit was $15 though....
 
Had friends who went to see it.

I experienced it first hand, didn't need to see it again.
