The Coalition is going to win, Howard is going to lose. Then we get to watch the Libs cannibalise themselves for the next three years until Rudd takes it in 2010- which will be nearly as satisfying as seeing an ALP victory this year :)

CF............do you really think that Labour cant get there this year??

Honestly, I think its going to be the labour parties biggest ever margin.

The more argument I listen to the more i am turned off the liberals.

^I agree totally. I don't think the majority or Australians can handle another 3 years of the same leadership regime. Rudds knows this and thats why is campaign slogan is so lame.

Aussies will generally feel it's time to give the other bloke a try no matter how many tax cuts Howard keeps offering. My money is on this one being a landslide to labor for those reasons... not to mention Howard looks old and crazier than ever - people are a afraid of him! (through Rudd could definietly pass as a vampire!) ;)

Does anybody know how The Greens and The Democrats are preferencing thier votes this year?

Have they done any good preference deals with the majors?

Just wondering. :)

:D

Australia's Green Party to give preferences to Labor

Australian minor opposition party, the Greens says its preferences will be directed to the Opposition Labor party ahead of the Liberal National Coalition in the Senate, in a bid to change the balance of power.

The Greens leader, Bob Brown says the party will first direct preferences to like minded smaller parties including the Democrats and What Women Want.

Senator Brown says preferences will then be directed to Labor.

He says the Howard Government has dictated to the Senate.

"We want to get rid of that dictatorship of the Senate," he said.

"Get back the balance of power so no one party can dictate in the senate and the Senate is again a house of review."

The Greens and the Democrats have agreed to preference each other however I'm not sure who the Democrats are preferencing in Liberal or Labor but I think it is Labor. Labor is preferencing the Greens first.

Labor, Greens seal preferences deal

Posted Sat Nov 3, 2007 3:29pm AEDT

Federal Labor has done a deal with the Greens to shore up preferences in this month's election.

Labor will direct preferences to the Greens in the Senate, while the Greens will preference the ALP in key House of Representative seats everywhere except Tasmania.

And Labor plans to put One Nation, the Citizens Electoral Council or Pauline Hanson last on all ballot papers in all seats.

The Australian Greens say their preferences in the Senate will be directed to Labor in a bid to change the balance of power.

Vale Tudo unless you can absentee your vote to WA you are shit out of luck. Thanks to new laws this year announced by the fuckwit in charge of the country if you haven't changed your address or enrolled by the time the election was called you're screwed.

If you were going to vote Liberal that's a good thing.

Holy crap, i just realised im registered to vote in WA, but i lived in VIC, can i still vote?

You should have no problems at all.

You can do a postal vote, or an absentee vote.

It is more than possible to do an out-of-area vote. You just need to go somewhere official like, and tell them what your electorate is, and you'll be fine.

Call up the australian electoral commission and ask them. It shouldn't be that much of an involved process.

CB.
