Anyone experienced this? How was it? I'm curious.

EDIT: Apparently, it's very important that is specially be Egyptian Blue Lotus there is a much more common Blue Lotus (Asian, I think?) that does not have the same effects.

I've done Nymphaea caerulea extracts quite a few times, if that's the Egyptian one?

I would compare it's effects in the same realm as drinking chamomile tea or using valerian root. Not that the effects are the same, just that's what sort of where the intensity of the effects are.

For me though, there's a really, really, REALLY mild "narcotic-like" effect in the background. And some times if I'm staring at bright images on a screen, I'll get "after-burn" images in my field of vision, especially if I go from looking at something bright to looking at a dark area. I would assume these are the "visuals/hallucinations" that get mentioned about it. Some times there's a super mild euphoria (the narcotic-like effect) there. Using it more than one day in a row seems to have diminishing returns.

Other than that, I would just say it's like any other sleep-inducing herbal supplement or tea. If you enjoy that kind of thing, it can be worth it.

I was mixing Blue Lotus & Wormwood recently & it seemed to make me a little more energetic rather than sleepy.

i’ve tried it a couple times, a local metaphysical/spiritual/witchy store near me sometimes has it in stock. i bought like, an oz, and maybe a couple cups of tea out of it. i tore up the petals to break em down without grinding em. i put a strainer ball of it into my nightly sleepytime chamomile, valerian root, passionflower tea.

it’s definitely very subtle in it’s effects but it was noticeable to me. shortly after drinking it i consistently noticed a nice relaxation. my body was very physically relaxed, was very nice for my tense sore muscles. mentally i felt very calm with a slight, but noticeable mood boost. very anxiolytic, it calmed my ass down and i’m basically a ball of anxiety wearing a human costume lmao. relatively sedating too, helped me drift off to sleep easily. all the effects felt very clean and light, too. it didn’t feel like i had taken a drug, i didn’t feel high, it felt very natural.

had a major effect on my dreams too. a lot of people take it for lucid dreaming and i can see why. on the nights i took it my dreams were incredibly vivid. some of them were nightmares, or at least would mess with my head with how vivid they were. i almost had a lucid dream on it one night, ive only had a lucid dream once or twice in my life. i woke up shortly after falling asleep, i was half way between sleeping and wakefulness. my body was asleep but mentally i was awake. i could tell that i was about to slip into a dream. i felt very close to being awake while dreaming, but i fell asleep what felt like right before i started dreaming. i felt like i got better sleep on nights that i took it too, spare the nights with vivid nightmares.

all in all was definitely a nice experience. it’s not something i’m chomping at the bit to get more of but i’d certainly do it again. was very nice. i struggle to relax at night (or any time), lot of anxiety and panic attacks. blue lotus was a nice break from that, didn’t seem like any risk of dependence or anything. plus i love dreaming so the vividness was cool. if the shop near me doesn’t get it in stock often but i’ll likely pick some up when they do.

I vomited loads of info into a post about this a little while ago
