Why do substances like PCP and cocaine boost one's ego like they do? What's going on in the brain during the days after PCP use?? I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with NMDA activity.

PCP is a known DAT inhibitor. Im not sure why the benzothiophene analog never has been reported since this definately has DAT activity. You might want to consider reading this file if you wish to look into this in further depth. Apparently it is also active at sigma receptors.

Ive narrowed it down to;

Dopamine = ego

so bring da dopamine baby... BTCP should be really interesting.. as it does just dat (pun!).

Grrraw, BTCP could be a serious enhancement to my personality. :D And it has nothing to do with breakthrough cancer pain!

I thinks thats nonsense. Certain drugs like cocaine just remove inhibitions, they don´t "boost" ego. The more inhibited you are usually the more you feel a "ego boost". Thats why coke is pimp drug. They are just whiny lowlife without.
